Chapter Text
Bradley was staying over for a few weeks. Both Goose and Carole dropped him and his bags off in the morning. The kid was bleary eyed and half asleep when they pulled up on the driveway. The house was large and rather extravagant. A house afforded by a high ranking Admiral.
Goose and Carole were buzzing in the front seat. Both excited for themselves and for Bradley. The couple was going on an anniversary cruise and Bradley did not want to go with them. He wouldn’t be able to mentally handle it, not while being stuck in the middle of the caribbean.
Grabbing his duffle bags from the trunk–Goose grabbing the ones he was unable to carry–they walked up the steps to the front door. Carole taking the lead, she hesitated to knock on the door. Anxiety crawling over her in a suddenness. It’s been a while since they’ve seen Mav.
She licked her chapstick lips and she knocked. Quickly finding the doorbell and ringing it instead. The two men watched from behind her, their arms still holding onto the heavy clothed packed bags.
Nothing happened for a short while. Then Maverick opened the door wide open, a large smile on his lips. It showed off his glowing white teeth. Carole threw her arms around his shoulders. Peppering him with kisses on his cheeks.
Mav lightly picked her up, swinging Carole through the door and placing her inside the house. Both laughing in delight. Goose was warm smiles as he walked in behind them, Bradley had yet to smile. He neither wanted to be here nor be with his parents in the coming weeks.
Turning his attention towards his best friend, Mav allowed Carole to gaze around the open house. Goose dropped Bradley's bags next to the door. Freeing his hands to wrap them around Mav in their own tight hug.
Bradley solemnly walked inside, following Carole deeper into the house.
“God, Mav. This place is gorgeous.” She gushed.
Mav smiled to ease his blush. “Thank you, god knows it better be after the fortune Ice spent on it.”
“And where is Mr. Iceman anyways.” said Goose.
Mav closed the door behind them. His smile faltering only slightly. “At work.”
“On a Saturday?” Bradley questioned.
Mav turned his attention on him now. He hasn’t seen the kid in years. He was looming over Maverick now, no longer the short and stubby twelve year old. Mav gestured them towards the kitchen.
“I’ll be lucky if he doesn’t work on a Sunday–Drinks?–Even if he doesn’t, he’s always in the study doing paperwork.” Mav poured them lemonade. The heat from the Summer was the worst they’ve had in years.
Goose frowned. “Has it always been like that?”
Mav chuckled. “Since the day I married him.” Carole was still absorbed with the house, Bradley was trying to sink into the corner. “C’mon, Bradley, let me show you to your room.”
Carole waved him off. Mav motioned for them upstairs. Bradley hesitated only slightly before falling in step behind. Goose grabbed the rest of the bags and trailed after. Carole stayed downstairs.
They walked into the wide hallway, white walls with art frames on the side. Passing another sitting room with filled bookshelves.
“How’d you been, Mav?” Goose asked. His voice echoing in the hall.
Mav glanced back. “I’ve been well, bored out of the life of me.”
“Retirement not for you then?”
“If you ask me, thirties is too early to retire.” Mav pushed open a door to their right. “This is you, got yourself your own bathroom and everything.”
Bradley gawked at the foot of the door. The room was massive to his standards. King bed with silk black sheets, two windows, a large study desk with a door leading to a small walk-in closest and another to a small white tiled bathroom.
Goose walked in, placing the luggage at the foot of the bed. Bradley doing the same, shrugging off his backpack as well. Mav stayed leaning at the entrance of the door.
“Think you’ll be good BabyBird? You didn’t forget anything right?” Goose asked. Mav smiled at the mothering.
Bradley scoffed. “I told you not to call me that and I’ll be fine dad.”
Goose smiled, walking back to Mav at the door. He whispered: “He’s been a moody seventeen year old lately.”
Mav grinned. Whispering back. “Wonder who he got that from.” Goose looked affronted.
Carole came up behind them, her steps heavy on the stairs. Peeking inside, she then barreled into the room. Swooning over the size of it, moving her attention towards the bed. “Bradley, feel these sheets! Are they silk?”
Mav was once more embarrassed but he nodded. Turning his gaze to the floor as he smiled. “I’ll let you unpack.”
Carole stayed to help Bradley as both Goose and Mav walked back downstairs. Mav immediately went back inside the kitchen. “Cookies?” He offered.
Goose shook his head. “I shouldn’t, bad for my sugar.”
Mav rose an eyebrow, still placing the plate of home-made chocolate chips in the center of the kitchen island. “Since when have you cared?”
“Ever since Carole hasn’t stopped nagging me about it.”
“She means well.”
“I know,” said Goose as he took a cookie from the plate. “So, why did you even retire if you're so bored and–dare I say– Unhappy?” Crumbs fell to his unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt.
“Ice pulled me, I didn’t know until he told me not to go in on Monday.”
Goose stopped eating. “He didn’t ask you?”
“No, not like he needed to.” Mav’s knuckles went white under the kitchen island. His smile, far more forced now.
“Why? Why did he even…”
Mav shrugged. “Said no Omega of his needed to work, especially not when I’m getting older.”
“Bullshit. You look the same as you did in your early twenties.” Goose grew irritated. “Fucking Kazansky, what was he fucking thinking.”
Mav didn’t answer, only gazed away from Goose. He didn’t know how to answer. He already has his argument with Ice over it and it brought no change. And he already mourned the loss of his freedom the moment he presented as an Omega.
Brightening up his smile as he saw both Carole and Bradley come down the stairs. Goose wiped some of his anger away.
“I hope you two aren’t flirting too much down there.” She called out as she came down the stairs.
Mav couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m afraid we're doing just that, right Darling?” He turned his question to Goose who had finished his cookie.
“Of course, honey.”
Carole also laughed, taking Goose by the arm. “Oh Please, don’t take my big Alpha away from me, Mav!”
“I’ll take you instead.” Mav teased.
Goose’s smile faltered.
Bradley neared the kitchen island where they all were. Mav offered him the plate of cookies towards him. Carole snatching one on the way.
“Nick, look at the time. We need to leave soon if we want to catch the plane.”
They all looked towards the clock. It was nearing nine in the morning.
“I’m afraid she’s right.” He said. They started to walk towards the door. Hugging and kissing their goodbyes the closer they got. Mav paced to open the door for them.
Carole and Goose pulling Bradley to the side. “You’ll be okay, right? Make sure to call us for anything, alright?” Time was nearing short. “If you need anything, ask Mav. And make sure to brush your teeth every night and know that Momma loves you!”
Mav was still propping the door open as the two parents spilled any last minute sayings. Soon enough they were out the door and slipping inside the car, still waving away as both Mav and Bradley watched from the porch.
They watched the car disappear down the long winded road. Going back inside the house, Mav closed the door once more.
“So, what do you wanna do now?” He asked. Making their way back to the kitchen. “Are you hungry? I can make breakfast?” Mav rambled nervously, not knowing what to say.
“No, I’m not hungry.”
Thay stalled around the kitchen. The silence, crushing and awkward. Mav swallowed as he tried to think of something to say. He didn’t recognize the boy standing right across from him. It wasn’t the twelve year old he used to know, Bradley had grown, matured into a full grown Alpha. Presented when he was fourteen.
“Been a while since I last saw you, huh? What four-five years?” Mav tried to smile.
Bradley pressed his mouth into a fine line as his eyes darted around the room, hands stuffed in his pockets. “Yeah, think so…”
Another silence.
“So, do you still play baseball?”
“No, I, uh quit a while back.” Bradley took a deep breath in.
“Any other sports?” Mav was trying to grab onto anything, anything to start a conversation.
“No, not really.” This silence was worse than the others. “Can I just go to the room and like, uh, settle in and stuff?”
Mav agreed immediately. Glad to rid of this awful silence. “Yeah! Of course…” Bradley was already going up the stairs.
Mav stood watching as he vanished behind the wall, heard the door closing and the house was back into its everlasting silence. Mav’s eyes drooped, his hand falling to grab a cookie. He had woken up early to make them, remembering how Bradley used to love chocolate chips.
Looking around the open house, he had cleaned it with a vigor the past few days. It was spotless for today, not a thing out of place. Mav looked back at the stairs leading upwards, hearing no noise coming from Bradley’s room.
Mav sighed deeply, nodding to himself as he gazed at the kitchen. Settling to pull out some of the pans. He hadn’t had breakfast yet.
He had brought a sandwich to Bradley’s room when he didn’t come out around lunch time. Knocking on the door, Mav hesitated to open it. Thankfully, Bradley opened it for him. The door creaked open just a slight, not enough to invite Mav inside, just enough to talk.
“I-I made you lunch.” Mav pushed the plate forward.
Bradley looked down at it in amusement. Taking the plate with one hand, the other still keeping the door where it was. “Uh, thanks.”
Mav preened. Hating that his omega was happy that he took it. “So, what are you doing in there?”
“Just talking to some friends an’all…”
“Oh, what are you talking about?”
“Stuff, I guess…”
Mav got the hint. His chest slightly aching from the rejection. “Oh.” He took a step back, the corners of his lips twisting up in a mock intimidation of a smile. Trying to hide the sour scent he accidently gave off at being pushed away. “I’ll leave you to it, then.”
Mav was halfway down the corridor before Bradley called out. His face resigned. “Mav! Do you wanna– hang out later, play some board games or something?”
Mav perked up, smiling gently now. “I would love that.” The sour scent vanished.
Bradley also smiled, his own chest burning with happiness as seeing Mav smile like that. It made his Alpha happy, knowing he made an omega smile like that. A beautiful omega at that.
Mav walked down the stairs with an air to his steps, far happier than he was before. Mind already thinking of the games he had. Knew he would have to go downstairs and scavenge for them.
After his search for the games, Mav had to take a shower as he waited for Bradley to finish up. He hasn’t gone to the downstairs closest in a long while, all the dust had fallen on him when trying to reach the high shelves.
He panicked when he heard Bradley’s voice call out for him in the hall. In his rush, Mav poked his head out from his bedroom. Towel loosely wrapped around his waist, scent blockers not yet applied and his hair dripping water everywhere.
“Give me just a moment.” He desperately called out.
Bradley didn’t even mean to scent the air but he was taken by surprise at Mav’s appearance. But he did and it had his dick hardening a slight, pushing his hands behind his back, the nails dug into his palms as he smiled. He couldn’t breathe without breathing in Mav’s scent.
And God was Mav’s scent heavenly. It made him want to bare his teeth, to push the omega against the wall, show him what a good Alpha he could be and fuck him. Fuck him so good he’ll be begging and whimpering.
Make him orgasm so many times he’ll be fucked stupid. And then knot him. Stuff his knot inside the omega’s pussy, connecting them together for however long. He’ll show Mav how good he could be at taking care of him.
“Don’t worry about it, take your time.” said Bradley, waving Mav off, going down the stairs so he could finally breathe again. Doing so when he heard the door shut.
Looking down at himself, Bradley felt shame run across his neck at his half-hard dick in his jeans. Running a palm through his face, he thought of the things he could do to get rid of it, and quickly.
Locating a bathroom downstairs was somehow easier than he anticipated. It had a large sink with a toilet and far too many hand towels. Sitting on the lid of the toilet, Bradley unbuttoned the zip of his jeans as fast as he could.
His hand firm around his cock as he stroked it hard and fast. Growling when he found it difficult to find pleasure. Knowing he needed to conjure images to get him off. He thought first of his Girlfriend, a beta who he met last year.
It did nothing to quicken his climax. He didn’t mean to think of Mav’s scent. Not really. Yet the smell was still stuck on the edges of his mind and the thoughts he had when he first smelt it grew and festered with a hand around his dick.
It made the imagination ever more real. Bradley gasped, biting into the palm of his hand as his cock spurted out. Panting as he winced at seeing his cum stain one of the towels in front of him.
He didn’t have time to hide any of the evidence. Already hearing Mav come down the stairs. Tucking his slowly softening dick back into his jeans. Knowing he could go a few more rounds, his body was more than happy to do so when the omega was just right outside. Quickly washing and rinsing both his hands and face, splashing water to make the redness go away.
Opening the door, Bradley gave a curt smile at Mav who was looking for him. Coming into the living room, Mav had already arranged an assortment of games to play.
