Summary
The second time someone confuses Alfred for Bruce’s father, Bruce hears it.
It is a complete disaster. The boy is outraged and starts threatening the poor hotdog vendor. They had been visiting Metropolis for Bruce’s spring break, and the day had been fun so far. They had spent longer in the museum of weaponry than Alfred thought was appropriate, but he kept his opinion to himself: Bruce looked happy for once.
“My father was an excellent man!” Bruce shouts and shouts. Even long after Alfred has managed to get him away from the poor vendor (and passersby with cameras), the words are still resonating.
“She meant well,” Alfred says. “She did not know better.” He tries.
