Summary
When Ardeth saves the O'Connells from getting literally burned on their latest expedition, it's supposed to be the start of delightful reunion. Instead Ardeth finds himself fighting for his life and his soul as an ancient daeva seeks to subvert him to its cause. Evy and Rick aren't letting him go without a fight, though, and perhaps this can be the start of something new instead of the ending of something old.
