The wet cell echoed with guttural laughter, which made the guard who was with Diana feel uncomfortable.

She dismissed him, but she couldn't deny that she too was upset.

The Joker was a halfway creature, without a purpose, without a soul. He was only moved by his selfishness.

"Look who came to see me. Wonder Woman. I'm popular."

Diana pursed her lips in a thin line. Due to Bruce's rule, she had never had anything to do with the Gotham Rouge. Joker was just one of Bruce's many enemies for her.

But that creature had killed the sweetest child she had ever known, a child who could have grown into a fine man and hero.

Jason will never grow up, eternal fifteen, a soul destined for the Elysians. She didn't know all the details (she had read the autopsy and dear Gods, she had cried) but Bruce had told her that he had died trying to do the right thing.

Such a hero was to be honored. Joker, on the other hand, deserved death.

Diana entered the cell and closed the open door behind her, "You no longer have diplomatic immunity."

"Really? Oh well, I guess I have to go back to Arkham."

The smile he gave her made her stomach upset, "It gets boring easily there. In a week, I'll want a change of scenery."

No prison can hold me, he seemed to tell her, mocking Diana. No, making fun of what Batman believed.

Batman, now a shadow of himself, in Gotham to bury his son.

Diana had contacted Dick, telling him to go home immediately. Bruce had already buried his parents. Now he had to do it with his son.

He needed all the support he could get.

She should be with him. She couldn't.

She had a job to do.

Diana loved. She loved fiercely, like her mother di lei, and lei was greedy, like the king of the gods, her father di lei.

She always protected what she loved. And if it was taken from her, her revenge di lei was excruciating.

Joker had killed a child she loved, destroying Bruce. Diana won't leave him unpunished.

Batman didn't kill. She didn't have those restrictions.

She took off her bracelets, which fell to the ground with a thud.

The cell floor cracked. Joker didn't flinch, "Aww, you want me? I'm flattered, but you're not my type."

"You misunderstood, man." Diana spat the word out with the same hatred she had heard from her sisters in Themyshira. She had learned that not all men deserved it. But the being in the cell ... oh, he deserved it. " It is not my intention to impress you. I will get rid of a hindrance. "

Her veins throbbed, and she felt free for the first time in years. She felt herself.

Joker backed away, ending up with his back against the cell wall.

"Get bigger? How scary! Go home, girl. I got harder punches from Batsy."

Diana thinned her lips, "A punch? Oh no, you misunderstood. I will destroy every bone in your body until there is nothing left, I will erase your existence permanently. No one can turn you back."

Joker scoffed at her, "How many threats? Everyone knows Batman doesn't kill. You are a hero."

She grabbed him by the throat, tired of his chatter. Joker's eyes widened, gasping for air.

"True, Batman doesn't kill. But I'm not Batman."

She had the right to get revenge. For herself, for Bruce. For Jason.

Only the blood will wash the offense.

"N ... no ... it ... it ha ... ha ... had to ... be ... him ..."

Diana squeezed tighter. She won't give him the satisfaction of destroying Batman.

She threw him to the ground, and he tried to crawl to the exit. Diana stopped him, sword in her hands.

"Where do you think you're going? The fun has just begun."
