Jimin and Yoongi’s apartment is filled with people and cameras for the first time. The married couple sits in front of a black curtain that acts as their background to hide their apartment. The bright lights above and in front of them illuminate them harshly, but in a way that looks good on camera.
The official first day of filming will take place in a couple of days; that’s when Jimin will leave, and Yoongi will have to take care of their son alone. Today they’re filming a brief interview where the couple is going to introduce themselves to the audience so they can get to know the Park-Min family.
His face doesn’t give anything away, but the truth is that Yoongi is nervous. Luckily, his husband’s lemongrass scent keeps him grounded.

“Hello, we’re Minjoon’s parents,” Jimin starts with one of his bright smiles. “I’m professional ballet dancer and dance teacher Park Jimin.”
“I’m Min Yoongi, but most people know me as rapper Agust D,” he says briefly before his husband takes the reins once more.
“After thinking about it carefully, we decided to accept the offer to appear on this special edition of the show, as it will only be a few episodes. We're both excited and nervous,” Jimin laughs prettily. “Please take care of my family,” he adds, bowing his head.
After hearing that, Yoongi's brow creases, and he turns to look at his husband. “Why are you nervous? That should be me, no?”
Jimin shares a look with him before he pats Yoongi’s thigh while looking back at the camera in front of them. “Mm, no.”
Caption: Tell us about Minjoon.
Just thinking about his kid, Jimin’s face glows. “Our Minjoon is 4 years old, and he's a little camera shy, so please give him some time to adjust to this new environment.”
“He’s shy around strangers, but he's also a very active kid. When we're at home, he's always doing something,” Yoongi continues. “He’s an only child, so he’s used to entertaining himself with his toys.”
“Minjoon has got a great imagination,” Jimin adds, looking at his husband, and the rapper nods. “I always say that he could become a writer or even a songwriter when he grows up,” he chuckles.
Yoongi snorts, but it sounds a little bitter. “The only problem is that he hates music.”
“He does,” Jimin confirms, looking like he still can’t believe that turn of events. “Whenever I try practising dancing at home, he comes running to turn off the music. I think he doesn't like how loud it is? It's strange considering we both work closely with it.”
“Maybe that's why,” Yoongi tries to reason. “We've subjected him to it so much that he's already sick and tired of it.”
“One thing he doesn't tire of, though?” Jimin says to the camera. “Cats. Minjoon adores cats, and he loves it when I connect my phone to the TV and he gets to watch cat videos on the big screen.”
Yoongi’s lips curl up as he remembers the awed look on his son’s face whenever they do that. That’s been the case ever since he was a baby. “He’s a cute and sweet kid,” he says fondly.

Jimin blushes a little and replies with a sheepish smile. “To be honest, Minjoon was a surprise. A welcomed one, but a surprise, nonetheless.”
Yoongi nods. “We were both very busy at the time career-wise, so it was a shock at first when we found out Jimin was pregnant, but we made it work.”
“After we both took a break to take care of Minjoon, we slowly went back to work, but Yoongi is always the busiest out of the two of us. I spend more time at home than him,” Jimin explains. “He’s been swamped, especially these past two years, and I can’t help but feel like Minjoon and Yoongi have become distant because of that.”
Yoongi has got a serious expression on his face now, also very much aware of how true it is what Jimin has just said. “Whenever I get home, he is already asleep, and sometimes I wake up too early to spend much time with him. It’s been hard spending quality time together, and when we do, Minjoon seems to gravitate towards Jimin.” His husband holds his hand then as he listens to him. Yoongi holds onto it while still talking to the camera. “I blame myself for that—my job shouldn’t be an excuse. But it’s still hard to feel that distance between us so clearly.”
“That's why we are here,” Jimin says comfortingly, smiling softly at his husband and squeezing his hand on his lap.
Yoongi shoots him a small smile before he turns back to the camera. “I talked to my company, and they agreed to this. Rappers usually have a bad rep that doesn't represent us all, and I feel like through this, I can show other sides of myself to my fans. That’s why my company was quick to give me the green light when this isn’t the kind of show I’d usually participate in. Jimin and I are also very protective of our private lives, so I'm sure some are curious, but we’re doing this for Minjoon and Minjoon alone.”
“Minjoon starts school next year, too, and it’ll be even harder for them to spend time together. We feel like this could be a good bonding experience,” Jimin explains, always the eloquent talker. “Minjoon has become very attached to me over the past two years, and we think this could help. It's a controlled environment where I get to see what’s going on and intervene if we see that Minjoon isn’t doing well.”
They share a look, and Yoongi nods. Making the decision was hard, and it’s nerve-wracking to show this side of themselves to the public, but they believe this could be good for all of them. They really hope so.
