Summary

Holy fucking shit this fic is going to give me gray hairs
I just finished binging the entire 16 chapters (as of writing this) in three nights and oh mt God oh my god
First of all, I love how realistic this is?? If that makes sense. Tom is written to have anxiety and my god is it depicted so well i was **wondering** why I was relating so much. Furthermore, the just realness of tord having past, genuine relationships while tom has been pining him is something i don't see often in the fics I read. Its always 'oh they're meant for each other their one and only!!' But its kind of refreshing seeing these things happen in fiction.
This fic had me thrashing in my bed and speaking to the hidden demons in my room at 2:30am. Genuinely. This fic invoked SO much emotion in me there were times where I shot up from my lying position on my bed. I felt the heartbreak, the terror, EVERYTHING, I felt it all and so so deeply. I have **cried** to this. Like. Full on sobbing AND IT WASN'T EVEN THAT BAD!!!! there was a certain something in the writing and the story and their dynamic that just caused me to burst out in tears.
Omfg their characterization is wonderful. With a media like eddswolrd, I think it's nice that the characters aren't fully fledged deeply written characters but rather a base that the fandom could use in their respectful creative fan made media. This version of tom and tord has GOT to be one of my favorites. They're equally as 'bad' as each other and one isnt 'superior' than the other. They both have their flaws and it makes them so much more enjoyable to read. Even more so, it makes them feel so **real**. The depth that the author adds to these characters are unreal.
It is **so** refreshing to see Tord as something more than a evil genius who secretly hates his friends and is obsessed with tom. That kind of adds onto what i said earlier about eddsworld being a flexible media to the fan base.
Man the way the author writes about feelings just gets me so twisted up inside in such a good way. My heart HURT. It's so hard to fully type out in words but by God this fic had me by the neck. I am SO excited to see where this goes
( p.s there was this one time during one of the low points in the story where I had to hold back my tears while talking to my friend about this, looking like a kicked puppy, going like: "they should've put the 'it gets worse before it gets better' tag" )
Seriously. I love this. A literal gem
