Through the Fire

Summary:

On one hand, Tobirama saved the village. He didn't have to worry about losing his brothers, or the war continuing because Iwa and Kumo were soundly defeated.

On the other hand, Tobirama is now bound to the demon he summoned.

Or, as Madara put it, 'Married' to the demon he summoned.

He's yet to figure out if it's a good thing.

Notes:

Hello and welcome! This is the long awaited continuation of 'In the Silence of the Darkness' lmao - so be sure to give that a read if you haven't already~

I had this written many years ago but only now revisited it and put it into something more coherent. Depending on reception, I may bring back the 'choose your own adventure' aspect of writing the fic, but we'll see.

Warning for this chapter - vague rape mentions cause Hashirama assumes the worst. Also soul bonding, which Tobirama very much did not consent to, despite basically giving Madara his soul in the first place lmao

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It took a long time for Tobirama to gather the will and strength to move.

His body ached. His muscles quivered with effort when he pushed himself to his hands and knees. The sensation of more fluid rushing out of him as he did so was as unnerving as it was arousing, and Tobirama did his best not to focus on that. He pressed a hand to his still bloated belly and let out a breath, and slowly pushed himself to his feet, using the nearby cavern wall for assistance.

Gravity did its job and he felt more of the demon's cum streaking down his legs in thick rivulets. He could only stand there for a few moments, feeling it drain out of him and shivering from the sensation, before he brought his hands together to form a sign.

Fire jutsu was far from his forte, but he was able to produce enough flame to light up the cavern, at least dimly.

He very much did not focus on the puddles of cum. He saw that the seal used to summon the demon was broken–the outer circle swiped almost clear, and Tobirama was hit with a realisation.

He had been very, very lucky to have survived this encounter. Though whether he would continue to be lucky… remained to be seen.

He located his torn pants and used them to wipe away the demon's seed as best as he could. Tried not to focus on the way he felt so damn empty now, and… cold. He no longer felt the humid heat of the cavern, and he made his way over to his folded shirt and armour to dress himself to chase away the chill.

At least the armour covered his lower half decently. The look, however, was utterly ridiculous, but it was better than being entirely naked.

That small amount of movement left Tobirama drained. Exhausted. He could feel the demon up high above ground, the mass of gathered soldiers panicking and their signatures being extinguished one by one. Hashirama was nearby, his chakra spiking with agitation.

He should move out to join him. Reassure him. Stop the panic before it got too bad, before the demon could do anything they hadn't agreed on. But he was tired.

So tired.

Eventually, Tobirama managed to drag himself towards the cavern’s exit. It was a long walk through the tunnels that passed in what felt like an endless blur. He gave up wiping away the cum that seemed to be a constant stream down his thighs, the rag his pants had become was practically useless now. The bite mark - hidden by his top - was starting to throb with pain, and the fabric was sticking to it, irritating it. Causing it to bleed more.

People were probably going to realise what had happened. Shame rushed through Tobirama at that, but he had to bear it - and he had to hurry. He could feel it - the enemy had been near extinguished, some stragglers trying to flee from the last remaining mass. But as Tobirama focused on them, he noticed them dropping one by one. Like flies.

That demon. Madara.

He was a monster. A terrifying, awe inspiring monster.

Tobirama squinted as the sunlight hit his eyes. The small room built into the mountainside beside the Hokage’s stone face was as empty as it should have been, and Tobirama was grateful for that as he pulled himself out of the trap door and looked around. The room, while doubling as an evacuation route, also stored a few supplies. The Senju searched briefly for some clothes to wear, but all he found were a few crates of blankets. Grumbling to himself, he grabbed one and wiped himself down as well as he could manage once more, and then braced himself.

He let out a shuddering breath, and stepped into the light.

It was to complete, utter chaos.

The village was completely fine, as far as Tobirama could tell. Save for the shinobi running around like they were chickens with their heads chopped off. Those that weren’t running about panicking were watching the smoke that filled the air, slowly beginning to blot out the sun.

The entire forest surrounding the village looked like it was on fire. Yet none of the flames even seemed close to touching the walls.

Tobirama breathed in the smoke filled air, and headed for Hashirama.

His brother was at the Hokage tower - on its roof, watching the rising smoke with a grim expression. His chakra churned with a mix of confusion and hope, and as Tobirama dropped down beside him, he gave a start.

“Tobi?” Hashirama looked at him with wide, dark eyes. Tobirama refused to meet them and crossed his arms over his chest. Doing his best to remain upright. His legs were shaking even worse than before, exhausted from the long journey from the cavern underground.

“The summoning worked.” Tobirama said simply in response. “The demon agreed to a contract.”

He could feel Hashirama looking at him. Tobirama braced himself and returned his gaze.

Hashirama was looking at his bare legs. At the way they shook, the white flaking it, the new trickle slowly making its way down his pale skin. Then his eyes fell on the soaked, blackened material of his undershirt - made darker by newly seeping blood.

He took a step closer, chakra spiking. “Tobirama…”

Tobirama looked away. Then stiffened when he felt a familiar presence appear behind him, and strong, burning hot arms wrapped around his waist, drawing him back against an equally hot, bare chest.

The demon’s voice purred in his ear, causing shudders to crawl down his spine. “Your enemy has almost been extinguished. The fire is taking care of the stragglers. Worry not my pretty human, your village is now safe...”

Suddenly, Tobirama’s legs buckled as Hashirama’s chakra flared - blinding, overpowering, filled with an all consuming rage that Tobirama hadn’t felt since their father had been alive. It was only Madara’s arms around his waist that kept him upright, the demon holding his weight with ease as Tobirama suddenly struggled to draw breath.

Hashirama’s chakra was a crushing, suffocating thing. It caused panic to spike in Tobirama’s mind because only now did he realise that of course Hashirama would see him and assume the worst had happened.

He felt the demon draw in a breath by his ear, an intrigued noise escaping him, and Tobirama struggled to speak as Hashirama advanced on them.

His tongue wouldn’t work. It was too thick and heavy in his mouth. Hashirama’s chakra, his rage, it was like a battering ram, causing pain to spike in his head and unbidden, a whimper escaped him. Tobirama clutched at his head, blinded by the sheer power his brother was exuding, and he tried to plead, “H-Hashira… A-Anija - p - p-”

“You’re hurting him.”

Madara’s voice was loud, sudden in Tobirama’s ear, and suddenly the demon was pulling him closer, curling his own bizarre, hot chakra around him as if to shield him from the sheer force of Hashirama’s.

And oddly enough, it worked.

Tobirama wheezed in relief as the pain in his head eased, his mind still too muddled for clear thought. He was limp in Madara’s hold, and could hear the rumble of his voice. He was speaking?

Anxiety spiked, and Tobirama struggled to focus. The demon’s words didn’t pause, and he simply nuzzled soothingly against his head as he spoke. Tobirama struggled and finally managed to focus.

“-calm down. Your kin was perfectly willing, you can stop looking at me like I raped him right in front of you-”

“Anija-” Tobirama slurred and pushed at the demon’s arms. His legs shook under his weight, but held him. Surprisingly, the demon released him, but remained pressed by his side, chakra a hot, churning shield around him. “I’m fine. It was - it was part of the contract. I was willing.”

He couldn’t quite get his vision to focus on Hashirama though. Couldn’t tell if his words had any effect. The demon’s chakra was muddling his senses, blocking him out, and Tobirama feared distantly that this shouldn’t be happening. He should… should still be able to sense…

Tobirama didn’t register when the world seemed to tip as his legs gave out beneath him.

Everything passed in a blur.

Hot hands caught him from underneath and a hand gripped his upper arm. He could feel it then - Hashirama’s chakra so close, bubbling with rage, seeping in through the thick barrier of the demon’s chakra. Tobirama blinked rapidly, seeing blurry dark forms above him that slowly came into focus.

Hashirama was gripping his upper arm. He was pressing a kunai to the demon’s throat with the other, expression hard and eyes cold.

The demon had his hands on Tobirama’s back, holding him up. His chin was lifted slightly, baring his throat to the sharp edge of the kunai, and his lips were pulled into a grin, red on black eyes gleaming with glee.

“Are you going to try and kill me?” The demon said, delight colouring his words. “That wouldn’t be a smart idea, considering your kin and I are now bonded. Who knows how my death may affect him?”

“Bonded?” Hashirama said flatly, eyes narrowing.

“What?” Tobirama said, equally as flat. He stared up at the demon in confusion. Bonded?

The wound on his neck throbbed along with his pulse, and unease began to stir in Tobirama’s gut.

A moment passed and no answers were forthcoming. Irritation spiking, Tobirama reached out with a shaking hand and gripped his brother’s wrist and tried to urge him to put the kunai away - but right then, Tobirama felt as weak as a kitten, and Hashirama’s hand didn’t budge.

Tobirama scowled. He did not have the mental capacity to be dealing with this right now. Embarrassment began to make itself known as it crept up from his chest to his face, and he spat out, “Anija, put the kunai away! The demon means no harm!”

“I mean no harm to you or your village.” Madara said, though it sounded more mocking than reassuring. Tobirama shot him a glare, which the demon returned with a heated smirk.

Then his eyes moved to the covered bite mark, and his smirk widened.

Hashirama hesitated. Tobirama tugged on his wrist again, and finally, reluctantly , Hashirama pulled the kunai away.

And then fixated all of his attention on Tobirama, now ignoring the demon completely. “Are you alright, Tobirama? What happened?”

Tobirama closed his eyes and sighed.

There was a thud off to the side. Through the burning sun and blazing inferno that was Hashirama and Madara’s chakra, it took awhile for Tobirama to be able to recognise it.

It reached out to him. The sensation of warm water sliding over him. Tobirama relaxed fully in Madara’s arms.

Itama. He was alright. That was good. Tobirama had worried that Itama would...

He shoved those thoughts firmly from his mind.

He heard his youngest brother jog over, calling out before he’d reached them in an uncharacteristically hard voice, “Is Tobi-nii alright? What happened?”

“He-”

“I’m fine .” Tobirama cut Hashirama off quickly and forced his eyes open. “The summoning just took a lot out of me. Kawarama?”

“Still with the academy students.” Itama reassured and came to a stop beside Hashirama - cautious and worried.

The shame hit harder than before when Itama glanced at his bare legs. Tobirama let out a breath, opened his mouth-

“They’re all dead now.” Madara crooned. He was looking away from them, towards the burning forest. He bared his teeth in a savage grin and he tightened his hold on Tobirama. “The stragglers are gone. My part of the contract has been filled.”

Suddenly, panic caused Tobirama’s heart to leap into his throat. He latched onto Madara’s shoulder, and the demon’s eyes snapped to him, eyes a little wide.

Tobirama couldn’t speak through the rising panic. The demon’s side of the contract had been fulfilled - what did that mean for Tobirama now? The demon had said they were bonded? What did that mean? What did that mean for him? What did that mean for the village? For his brothers-

Hot hands gripped his face, and Tobirama found himself staring right into the demon’s eyes.

“Breathe, pretty human.” The demon ordered, voice soft.

Tobirama sucked in a shuddering breath. He hadn’t realised he’d stopped breathing, and his lungs burned as they filled with air. It became easier, the more Tobirama stared into the demon’s eyes, and the exhaustion that he’d been trying to keep at bay was suddenly weighing down on him. Heavy as a mountain.

There was something in those red, red eyes. Three dots spiralling around the slit of his pupil, swirling languidly.

The panic calmed. He could… think this through.

Tobirama looked away from the demon’s hypnotising eyes, and met Hashirama’s dark, worried ones. He licked his lips and said, “I promise I’ll explain later. I just… need to rest. Do you trust me, Hashirama?”

“Of course.” Hashirama answered right away. His gaze flickered to the demon, wary. “But Tobirama-”

“It’ll be okay.” Tobirama said. He winced inwardly when it came out sounding like he was trying to reassure himself. “I’ll be okay. It just… took a lot out of me.”

The demon’s chakra suddenly took on a smug edge. Tobirama was too weak to jab him in the gut, much as he wanted to.

Itama spoke up then, placing a hand on Hashirama’s shoulder. Reassuring him. “Alright. Go home and rest then. We’ll take care of the clean-up and see you tonight, yeah?”

Tobirama swallowed his relief and closed his eyes. Itama was able to keep Hashirama in check. That was… that was good.

“Shall I take you to bed then?” That was a leer in the demon’s voice. Tobirama didn’t need to see it to know it was there.

A shudder crawled down Tobirama’s spine. He winced when Hashirama’s chakra spiked once more, felt the demon’s arms shiver a little, and forced his eyes open.

Hashirama was glaring at the demon. Madara was grinning right back.

This was getting annoying .

Without any ceremony, Tobirama reached up and grabbed Madara’s horn, and yanked it with all of his strength. The demon gave a surprised yelp, his grip tightening, and jerked to glower down at Tobirama, incredulous.

Strangely, where Tobirama expected to feel fear at such a look, all he felt was a vaguely nervous flutter in his stomach - and he felt vindicated . He didn’t feel any negative emotion in the demon’s chakra. This was just…

Posturing?

He let out a breath and returned the glare with one of his own.

“Take me to my home and you can do whatever you want.” He stated, firmly as he could. “ And you’ll explain what you meant by ‘bonded’.”

The glare died, and instead that gleeful look returned.

It didn’t bode well.

“Tobirama-”

Hashirama’s protest went unheard as Madara leapt into the air, Tobirama cradled tightly to his chest.

***

Flying felt similar to using the Hiraishin.

That was probably why Tobirama was able to refrain from throwing up as his stomach dropped out from beneath him. He was used to feeling that, albeit in a different way. But still, he was lucky - weak as he felt, he thought it wouldn’t take much more for him to lose the contents of his stomach.

The air was hot and filled with smoke, the demon even hotter against him, and for a moment, Tobirama longed for a chilled breeze.

(But then he remembered the cold, after being left alone in that cavern, and Tobirama changed that line of thought rather quickly. He didn’t want to feel that cold again.)

(Sage, what had the demon done to him…)

Tobirama’s awareness shifted, and then suddenly they were on the ground once more. Tobirama squirmed, looking at the front of his house with wide eyes. “How-”

“Your scent is strongest here.” The demon supplied and strode up to the door without any hesitation. He had to duck so his horns didn’t hit the overhang, and came to a stop right in front of the door. “Here, at the building we were just at, and at another large building a small ways off. I assume this is your home out of all of them because - well, it looks like a home.”

“How astute of you.” Tobirama said dryly, noting down mentally that the demon had a remarkably strong sense of smell. He squirmed, about to demand to be put down, but Madara acted before he could speak.

The demon gently lowered him to the ground, tail swishing about his clawed feet, warm hands on Tobirama’s waist to keep him upright and -

Tobirama was hit with the realisation that this was the most absurd situation he had ever found himself in. They’d been at war, only an hour before. Tobirama had summoned a demon king and offered up his very soul in exchange for winning said war. And now here he was, standing on his front porch about to unlock the wards with the same demon king like – like some young civilian couple coming home after a long day of work -

“What’s so funny?” Madara mused. Tobirama glanced up, biting the inside of his cheek (ow, right, he’d bitten through that earlier) and had to press his lips together to contain his hysterical laugh.

“Ah.” The demon said after a moment. “I suppose this is an absurd situation.”

There it was again, as if the demon knew what he was thinking. This was concerning. Could the demon actually read his mind or just his emotions? He definitely needed to ask about that as well as everything else -

“Take down your wards.” The demon said, his lips pulling into a ridiculous pout. “Even I would have a hard time getting past them. You really are a very special human.”

A flush crept up Tobirama’s cheeks and he turned away, reaching out with his diminished chakra and undid the seals. The door swung open, and Tobirama began to walk unsteadily inside -

Only to be pinned up against the wall in the entry hall, the demon a hot wall of flesh and fur at his back and those talented, clawed hands undoing the straps and clasps of his armour in a a matter of seconds, sending them clattering to the floor and leaving Tobirama in just his blood splattered undershirt.

The demon’s face pressed against his neck, a deep growl rumbling from his chest, and Tobirama’s legs shook as an intense wave of desire shot through him.

Hot fingers cupped his asscheeks, squeezing and parting them. They’d changed shape again, talons now blunt human-like fingers. Tobirama gasped and arched, and the demon’s teeth grazed over the bitemark through the thick material of his undershirt.

“I want to take you again.” The demon purred. “Take you right here and now, in the comfort of your own home. Claim you again and again and again…”

Tobirama pressed his forehead against the wall and clenched his eyes shut. Those words - the emptiness he was feeling, it ached . The thought of being filled again, with the demon’s cock, the demon’s cum…

He was tired. Exhausted. But by the sage, Tobirama wanted it.

The removal of one of the demon’s hands was very noticeable - and Tobirama’s eyes flew open, a strangled whine escaping him when Madara plunged three fingers inside him at once. The noise was obscenely loud, the squelching as the demon pressed them in as deep as they would go and scissored them out. Tobirama bit down on his forearm to muffle the noises that wanted to escape him - more cum slipped out at the movement, dripping down his thighs, and he felt so - so filthy -

“You’re still so ready for me…” Madara murmured in his ear. “So wet and eager. I could take you just like this and you wouldn’t protest, would you?”

Tobirama tried to speak. The remnants of his pride tried to stir, to claim that no but -

He wanted it . He wanted it so badly -

The demon growled - delight and approval filling the chakra in the air around them, and Tobirama gave a startled yelp when those fingers were removed and he was scooped up into the demon’s arms once more. The demon moved quickly, making his way through the house until he came across Tobirama’s bedroom and gave a pleased purr.

Madara had followed his scent again-?

The room was dark - curtains blocked out the day, only letting in a sliver of light to illuminate the small, bare space. It only bore a bed and a dresser as Tobirama didn’t spend much time there beyond sleeping the odd night he wasn’t in his lab.

He didn’t have time to dwell before he was dumped on the bed. He bounced a little on the mattress, blinking dumbly at this abrupt change of position, and then the demon was on him again and hot lips were pressed against his own - that long hot tongue was thrusting into his slack mouth, licking and claiming and dominating-

Tobirama grew lax beneath him, hands finding Madara’s shoulders and he clutched them as tightly as he could. Dug his blunt nails into heated flesh. Madara growled, the rumble felt deep into Tobirama’s core, and he moaned, kissing back -

Wait – damn it –

Using what was left of his pathetic strength, Tobirama shoved at Madara’s shoulders - pushing him back. For all that he expected the demon to ignore him, to keep ravishing him – and sage, a large part of Tobirama wanted him to – but Madara instead drew back, peering down at Tobirama with hooded eyes. A string of saliva connected them, and Tobirama panted for breath, scrambling for a coherent thought to voice.

“You have questions.” Madara said - sounding both annoyed and resigned. “You’re not going to relax until you get answers, are you?”

Tobirama lay tense beneath the demon’s large form, eyes narrowed. Without the demon actively trying to distract him, it was easier to think - but due to their positioning, not by much.

Tobirama’s body - Tobirama’s everything craved for the touching to continue. But Tobirama had debased himself enough within the past few hours, so he wasn’t going to simply give in so easily again.

(But with the way Madara looked at him, Tobirama thought that if the demon tried , then Tobirama just might.)

For whatever reason, Madara drew back fully, giving Tobirama some space. He didn’t dwell on how he felt chilled at the removal of the demon’s body and instead pushed himself up into a sitting position. The blankets beneath were already filthy from him laying there, and he wrinkled his nose - greatly wishing for a bath, but that could come later. Provided the demon allowed it.

Don’t think about it .

“You may ask away.” The demon drawled, his tail curling up onto the bed, giving an impatient thump. “I am nothing if not a fair king and will answer with honesty.”

Tobirama snorted, because of course he would– demons didn’t lie, after all. But perhaps that meant he wouldn’t dance around his questions and be purposefully vague. Sage, but Tobirama hoped he wouldn’t be vague.

He tightened his jaw and met the demon’s eyes unflinchingly. There was something about those eyes - the way they affected him - that he wanted to ask about as well, but firstly…

The mark at his neck throbbed. He could feel something, the faintest of somethings different about his body, like there had been a shift. To make way for something more . It became all the more obvious as he focused on it.

“What did you mean,” He began. “By bonded?”

Madara tilted his head, hair lazily shifting over his shoulders as he settled down on the bed - cross legged, of all things. His legs were not shaped like a human’s - digitigrade as opposed to plantigrade, his feet taloned like a bird, but covered in a short layer of velvet-like fur. In the faint light coming in through the curtains Tobirama noticed pads of pink at the bottom. Like a cat.

His fingers twitched with the urge to touch. He valiantly refrained and focused back on Madara's face - keeping his impatience at bay, because he could see the demon seemed to be putting his thoughts into order.

“Bonded.” He started slowly. “Means exactly that - we are now bonded. You are mine, and I am yours.”

Tobirama stared in disbelief.

“In more human terms, I suppose the correct terminology to go with would be ‘married.” Madara’s lips quirked into a teasing smile. “I am pleased to have you as my husband, pretty one.”
