Summary (Spoilers!):
aspionage - Sybillance Series
Pre-Hogwarts (Book 1):
One year after Voldemort's 1981 attack, James and Lily Potter are convinced by Albus Dumbledore that their son Harry is a Squib and must be left with the Dursleys for his own protection, while they raise his celebrity twin, Oliver, as the "Boy-Who-Lived".Eight years later, the Potters discover Harry is actually a wizard and retrieve him, but the boy struggles to integrate into his new life at Potter Manor, harboring deep resentment toward his parents while navigating a supportive bond with his sister Jasmine and a hostile, jealous rivalry with Oliver.
Tensions within the family reach a breaking point when Oliver’s bullying causes a dangerous display of accidental magic from Harry, leading him to run away to London where he is eventually found by his godfather, Sirius Black, to whom he finally reveals the extent of the Dursleys’ physical and emotional abuse. While adjusting to a new custody arrangement where he lives with Sirius during the week and visits the Potters on weekends, Harry feels forced to participate in muggle drug-running operations for his school friend Dan.
The narrative concludes with the successful criminal conviction of the Dursleys and Harry finding a sense of hope and belonging as he obtains a phoenix feather wand—the brother to Voldemort’s—and prepares to depart for Hogwarts with his family.
Year 1 - 3 (Book 2):
Both brothers are unexpectedly sorted into Slytherin, forcing them to navigate a tense relationship and a shared rivalry with Draco Malfoy. Harry forms a loyal, cross-house friendship group with Blaise, Tracey, Neville, and Hermione, while Oliver and Draco become their rivals. Harry becomes Slytherin Seeker and is mentored by Snape. Despite their deep-seated animosity, Harry and Blaise follow Ollie, Draco, and Ron into the forbidden corridor to prevent Voldemort from stealing the Philosopher’s Stone. The year concludes with the Potter twins sharing an uneasy truce after the stone is saved, though Harry continues to harbor intense resentment toward James and Lily for his childhood abandonment.Harry’s second year is defined by the exposure of his cigarette business forced onto him by his muggle gang friends, which leads to a painful confrontation with James and Lily about his abandonment and results in mandatory counseling with Severus Snape to manage his growing anger issues. When the Chamber of Secrets is opened, Harry faces school-wide suspicion for his Parseltongue ability, but he eventually unites with Oliver to kill the Basilisk, save Ginny, and destroy Tom Riddle’s diary. This moment serves as an act of mutual sacrifice that serves as the turning point for the twins' reconciliation.
Jasmine is sorted into Ravenclaw. Harry assists Oliver in obtaining a diagnosis and support for his dyslexia, ultimately leading to a restored sense of family and a newfound understanding between the brothers. While supporting Blaise through a difficult breakup, Harry balances his improving relationship with his father against the realization that he may never share a deep connection with his mother. The story ends with a unified New Year's celebration at Sirius Black's house, where the twins fully reconcile and Harry finally embraces his place within both his chosen and biological family.
