Chapter Text
It was late in the Evening after the Party, the Madrigals were cleaning their Home after the guests left.
Pepa, Julieta and Alma were in the Kitchen while Isabela showed her hermana and primos the new types of Flowers she could create. Meanwhile Félix took care of a sleepy little Antonio, who was so excited that the magic returned, that nobody even noticed that it was past his bedtime. In the meantime as this happens you could see that Agustín and Bruno talked in another corner in the main area of the House.
But nobody seems to notice that they are being observed by a Mirabel that was sitting on a bench right in front of them. Mirabel is deeply sunken in her thoughts about the events that took place in the past few days.
She looked over to her hermanas and pirmos, and saw how happy they seemed to be in their “new” Home. She was truly happy for them that they got their Gifts back. She could remember how her primos and hermanas pulled her into a tight Hug, after she came back with her abuela and tío. She couldn’t wait to see how all of them would improve themselves to the Persons they really are. With or without powers she still loved them deeply.
Her eyes drifted over to the Corner where her Tío Bruno and Papí were talking. She was so thankful for her Papá, he never gave up on her and always tried to protect her in every way possible. Even if it meant for him to get stung by many bees.
Her eyes looked now at her tío, even if she couldn't remember him that well after he disappeared, he was always trying his best for her. But she could remember small parts of how he helped, laughed and played with her when she was little. She was really thankful for such an awesome tío. That same tío that would have shouldered the blame on him as the House broke down.
Before she could think of more, there was a quiet laughter coming out of the Kitchen. So her glimpse travels rash to the Kitchen to find the source of the noise. It was her abuela and tía laughing at something her mother had said.
Yes… her Mamá, she was the one that understood her the best. She really is something special. She always tried to show her how loved and enough she is, even if just in her mamás eyes. After Mirabel returned she hadn't left her out of her sight because she was afraid she would just disappear again.
Of course she had it meant only in the best way for her, but it was a bit too much after some time. So she tried to convince her Mamá that she wouldn’t just disappear again. It didn’t go the way she had hoped because her Mamí had good arguments, but nearly as Mirabel decided to give in her tía Pepa joined the conversation.
She knows her hermana like nobody else, so she also figured out that she would be worried very much about her hija. She decided that her sobrina could use some help. But that doesn't mean that she didn’t worry about Mirabel, quite the opposite actually, she really cared about her youngest sobrina. So she and Julieta decided that Mirabel wouldn’t longer be under her Mamás observation all the time and she could go out alone again, but as long as she told someone where she was going. It was not all to her liking but she could live with it.
But it really surprised her that her tía helped her to convince her Mother. She and her tía had not the best relation to each other, so she thought at least. However she really loved her tía Pepa and tío Félix. When she was little her tía always loved to draw with her and give her new ideas about what they could draw together. Her tío always told her and Camilo good night stories when they lived together in the nursery. Even in the last few years her tío would still tell her and Antonio some stories when he had time.
And then there was her abuela. She really loved her like all the rest of her Family… but she couldn’t forgive her that easily just yet… after everything that happened between them. Sure she apologized for all she had done and is trying to be better, but still… But you can say she is really trying to be better, she asks everyone how they are feeling and if something is bothering them she will do something against it. Or at least try it, and this is really something you can be proud of if you have known how she was before the house collapsed. But both of them have a long way to go before they can truly be themselves around each other again. So does anyone in the Family but Mirabel is sure that they will make it to the Point… Together this time!
There was just one point that she couldn't really understand. Why was her chest hurting so much?
Why Did she have the feeling that it was all her fault? Why did it sting so much when she thought about herself and all what happened? Why did – …
Before she could think of more she realized that her tío Félix sat beside her and waited till she recognised him. He looked at her for a moment before he spoke:
-”Much on your mind hija, you're alright ?”
-“ Yea it was just a pretty eventful day.” Spoke Mirabel while looking at her tío.
-“ Sí it was.” he locked up in the sky.
-“It is good to be back here, I really missed Casita. And thanks to everyone and mostly you were back in our Home.'' As Félix spoke there was a little sting in Mirabel's chest, but she decided to ignore it. So she answered
-“ We all helped to rebuild Casita. You also did an awesome job by helping to rebuild the walls tío. But thank you… also I'm pretty happy too.”
‘ Am I ? ‘ she unconsciously thought…
At that though her smile on her lips fell for a short moment, before she could even notice it. That got his attention as he glimpsed at her for a short time before returning his look back at the sky.
“You know you can talk -- “ Before Félix could continue Mirabel let out a small yawn that caught his attention as he glanced back at her. He decided to let it be for today and try it later.
-“ … It's pretty late. You should probably head to your Room and go to bed, before you'll fall asleep here. ” he said with a chuckle.
-“ Ah sí, I will. Buenas noches tío.” She quickly answered as she stood up and began to make her way to the Stairs.
-“ Buenas noches Mirabel” he replied with a light irritated but loving smile, as he watched her walk towards the stairs.
Mirabel didn't know why she just rushed away from the conversation with her tío. She normally loved it when her Family talked to her… She decided not to make a big deal out of it, she would apologize to him tomorrow for her rude behavior.
Before she even realized she stood in front of the nursery. As she wanted to enter the Room, Casita pushed her back.
-“Mhm… Casita? What are you doing?” but then she remembered, the nursery was no longer her Room. She now had her own Room. Her own space…she dreamt of this for so long. Mirabel mumbeled a short thanks to Casita as she went to her new Place.
When she reached her Room she stepped in and closed the door right behind her. Mirabel closed her eyes, leant with her back against the Door and let out a small sigh of relief.
She was finally alone… It's not like she didn't enjoy the presence of her Family, she really did, but she needed a few moments for herself. The second she opened her eyes she was greeted by the sight of a stuffed animal sitting on her bed. It was a Gift from Antonio.
She moved away from her door and sat on her bed. Mirabel's Room was much bigger than the nursery. She had her bed in the right corner with a little carpet in front of it. A Dresser on the opposite side and her Desk with her knitting stuff right next to it. Next to her bed stood a Small Commode. On top of the commode stood a little Lamp and some Pictures of her family. She had some Plants in her Place which was Isabelas doing. The Walls were colored with a calming light blue tone. A little further away from her bed was a window which had white Curtains with some Knitting work on it. Mirabel honestly loved her Room, as she glanced through it.
When she realized how late it was she quickly got ready for bed. As soon as she took off her glasses and layed in her bed she closed her eyes, but soon realized she couldn't sleep. Something Prevented her from sleeping, but what was it?
She tried to ignore it. But as soon as she started to fall asleep, something was bothering her and it kept her up …
She rolled around in her bed and tried anything possible to get her well deserved sleep… Anything but to actually uncover why something was bothering her.
After a while she let out a small sigh… ‘Fineeee’ she thought.
So she started to theorize what could possibly be the reason for it, to be just confronted with the similar pain in her chest.
She was helpless…
-‘Okay.. I have not the slightest idea what is going on. I have everything I could ask for. I have a family that loves me the way I am. Even if they Ignored me a few times In the Past .But they Promised to be better!
Do they really? Will they keep their promise?‘ At this moment she froze…
What was that? Of Course they loved her! Right? She felt how her chest tightened...
-‘jeez..’ She tried not to Panic
-’Perhaps it was just a stupid one time thing..
–Yes it definitely was! Well I also have this awesome Room! Which I don’t deserve.‘ Her thinking stopped.
Does she really not deserve it ? Of course she does !
... But why was there a voice in the back of her head saying she didn't? She could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Her grip on her chest tightened. What was going on with her?
She quickly got up and opened the window for some fresh air.
-‘I ehm-... I don't… Uhhh I'm making no sense. Get it together! It is surely nothing.’ She hastily wipes her eyes, looks a bit out of her Window and takes deep breaths of the fresh Night air before she returns to bed.
-‘I should try to sleep. Tomorrow will be a stressful day.’ she thought. She closed her eyes and ignored all the feelings in her head and chest. After a while she sunk into a deep dreamless sleep.
When everyone was asleep there was a deep purple and yellow glow in the main area of the House.
After the Light vanished it left behind a little package…
Was it something good? Will it help or hurt the family?
Casita didn't know what to do… so it decided to wait till tomorrow to show them what happend.
Was it a good decision?
I hope you liked it! Hopefully it was not all to boring... o(* ̄▽ ̄*)o
