Bernard...doesn’t seem to think so. Not in the least, if the nervous bob of his Adam's apple is anything to go by.
Tim creeps behind him, utterly silent until his nose almost tickles the back of Bernard’s neck, then whispers in his ear, “It’s haunted.”
Bernard shrieks.
Alfred opens the door.
A solid ton of polished oak and brass and institution caresses the floor in a sweeping curve, giving way to Bernard, Batman t-shirt underneath a blazer, cherry red in the face. Tim snickers beside him.
or, wins and losses in turns, and being twenty is epidemic, but tim manages to wrestle with life enough to tug bernard into place beside him

Tim, freshly broken up with Steph, falls into a relationship with Bernard.
He's terrified bc thats a fucking Boy, and he didnt know that he was Like That. But its also chill bc its the happiest he's ever felt.
He tells Dick. He goes on dates with Bernard, and tries to be suave but is also awkward and Bernard loves him for it. He is, sort of, Bernard's sugar daddy. He buys him clothes and brings him on fancy dates because it distracts from all the lies he's telling him.
Tim can't tell him about robin, or about how he knows people in teh GCPD, but god does he want to. He really struggles with the guilt of lying to Bernard. And also with the guilt of not telling Steph... in fact, telling Bruce and Dick and all of YJ before Steph...
Steph-Tim confrontation where Tim breaks and realises he didnt tell Steph bc he was scared what she would think - not because she's homophobic, or awful, but bc What If? They hug it out, then stop a mugging on patrol. Tim jumps in front of a bullet and, wouldn't you know, Bernard's house is a block away.
Tim stumbles onto the doorstep with Steph and Bernard lets them in after identity reveal. They wait for Batman. Tim wakes up in the manor 2 days later and calls bernard immediately
Bernard visits and vomits from worry, and hugs tim so much and explains he isn't mad and still wants to be boyfriends.
