Work Text:
A cozy aroma of Ionian tea leaves filled the pristine cafe. The imported wood, found from trees found only in the harsh eternal winter climate of the Frejlord was the aesthetic pride of the eatery. The unapologetic auburn colour radiated in the room, warming the hearts and hands of everyone visiting in the cold winter.
Next to the window, a certain blue haired and pink haired duo were seated, scanning the menu for their orders. The former was Caitlyn, up and coming sheriff of the Piltover Enforcers, dressed in a long sleeved pink top, made of a material you wouldn't be faulted for thinking was cashmere, alongside a light brown and long skirt. Her winter coat was hanging on the coat hanger at the front door.
Opposite her was Vi, the rough and tough girl still shivering from the cold, despite the Hextech heating. She donned her red jacket, white shirt and a similarly coloured skirt with heated stockings.
"R-remind me again why I'm not in pants, Cupcake?" She asked rhetorically, rubbing her hands then clutching her borrowed orange scarf for warmth.
"Because I find it cute, sweetheart."
Soon, Vi found her cheeks warming up on their own from her blushing. Her rugged, gloved hands began to lift her scarf up to hide the embarrassment.
"Besides, aren't the stockings warm?" Caitlyn asked, slyly sliding her hand under the table to rub Vi's thigh.
"Wh-when did you get so devious?" Vi asked, smirking a little at Caitlyn's bold gesture. Caitlyn smiled devilishly, looking as if she could gobble Vi up. "Yeah, they're warm but I'm wayyy too easily cold. But it-it's fine. This place is real warm. And..." Looking around at the exotic art and wooden features, then to the prices on the menu, Vi nearly dropped the menu in sheer disgust. "Expensive! Seriously, this much for a cup of tea? You can get a full meal for that price in Zaun, bet it'd taste a jillion times better too."
Caitlyn put her finger to Vi's lips, like a mother shushing her child. She gently caressed and drew imaginary circles, instantly silencing the usually fiery woman in front of her.
"It's my treat. You won't have to spend a dime. Let me handle everything, dear. Just order what you want. Don't hold back." Caitlyn put her hand up to call for a waiter, not waiting for Vi to even have time to look again at the menu to really consider what she wanted.
"Yes, ah, Ms Kiramman! And... I'm sorry, I don't believe we've met!" The waiter was friendly, exuding an air of professionalism. A foreign concept to Vi, but it looked like his hands were clean and wouldn't pass along any mystery diseases. Unlike the street food in Zaun, which while delicious would ensure you’d be out of commission for a few days. Vi recalled a time she ate at Jericho’s, resulting in her puking her guts out for almost a week. Under Vander’s close watch, it had been the longest she’d gone without throwing a punch.
"Ah yes, this is my girlfriend Viola! She's a bit shy, so I've brought her to only the most welcoming cafe in Piltover!" Caitlyn looked back and subtly winked at Vi. Vi almost jumped out of her seat and mustered up a meek sound of approval, before reaching out to shake the waiter's hand.
"Ah, a pleasure! Wow, what a grip you have, Viola!" She loosened it quickly, not wanting to intimidate someone Caitlyn considered a friend.
"Harold, could I have my usual please?"
"Of course. Our signature sandwich without tomatoes and a fresh cup of tea, imported straight from Ionia."
The two old friends turned to look at Vi, expecting her to order. A few things caught Vi off guard. For one, the fake name given to Harold. Was she ashamed of telling him who she really was? Secondly, what would she even order? Vi could barely even read the dishes on the menu, many of them in fancy foreign languages. Finally, why the hell was Caitlyn so in control today, so domineering of her and the situation? She almost forced the skirt and stockings on Vi, made her seem so meek and shy to the waiter and controlled the moment with posh and elegance. And fuck damn it, why the hell was it such a turn on?
"Uh, um, this one."
"Ah, excellent choice. Would you like something to drink as well?"
"Could she get a frothy hot chocolate?" Caitlyn spoke for VI.
"Certainly. I'll be back shortly." As the waiter scurried off, Caitlyn sipped on the complimentary warm water given.
"What was that about? Since when am I 'Viola'? Why am I getting a hot chocolate, which by the way, does sound good. And why the hell are you so damn hot today?" Caitlyn chuckled at the fiery passionate bombardment of questions from Vi as the drinks arrived. The tea was unquestionably fresh, and the chocolate undoubtedly hot and frothy.
"You've been stressed for a while, Vi, dear." She began to explain, sipping the tea. "You've had it rough recently, you've had to make all the difficult decisions and it must feel terrible knowing the world's on your shoulders." Vi sighed, enjoying the warmth of her beverage and reliving Caitlyn's words. She has to find Powder, the guilt of the incident she wasn't able to stop. Everything from the day she went to Stillwater till now has been weighing on her neck, and it's been one hell of a fight trying to stay mentally sane for herself and the people who need her. But she'd be lying if she said she wasn't constantly losing this fight.
"So today, Viola, you're not going to be rough and tough Violet. You don't have to be the hero anymore. Today, let me take control." Caitlyn gently took hold of Vi's hands, rubbing the back of her palm softly and tenderly. They gazed into each other's eyes, sight lingering for a few seconds longer than it should have been. "Today, you sit back and let me do all the work." Caitlyn smiled sweetly, moving a hand over to Vi's cheeks as she sank herself into them.
"Plus," Caitlyn continued, "don't you just find it soooo arousing with me finally being on top?" Her smile turned jokingly sinister, knowing the tables were turned on Vi. Normally she always took control of the situation, her headstrong and stubborn nature pushing her to take initiative. It seems Cupcake had learnt a few tricks from her, in that regard.
"It-it's nice." VI stuttered, realising she had been fully warmed up. Her face still incredibly flushed off Caitlyn’s new confident demeanour.
“It’s also payback. For that time in the brothel.”
“Are you still hung up about that, Matilda?” Vi teased.
“Heh, not particularly. But it’s revenge all the same.”
The two shared a laugh before having their food arrive. Caitlyn was dainty, holding a pinky out to drink her tea as if the act was instilled into her from young. She always held her sandwich with two hands, using the given napkin to wipe her mouth almost obsessively at the feeling of sauce on her lips. Contrasting that, Vi basically shoved her fish in her mouth whole. It was no Jericho’s, but man it was incredible. Bits and pieces of her fish were flying onto the table and some on the floor, making noises with every bite to articulate her satisfaction.
“Enjoying the meal, Viola?” Caitlyn lovingly gazed at VI down her meal. Something about Vo’s messy eating set her aflame, the way she licked the residue taste off her finger with that sharp tongue normally reserved for quips and… well, other things. The way she’d roll her shoulder when she was getting so into a meal. God, she loved her.
“Oh man, Cupcake, this is gourmet shit. Are you sure that tiny sandwich is enough?” She eyed her lover’s food. That sandwich couldn’t feed Vi if she was full. Caitlyn snapped out of her admiration and flushed, telling VI she doesn’t eat much anyways. Vi tilted her head in confusion, wondering why it was topsiders, with all the food and drink in the world and yet they’re the ones not eating all that much. Alas, the tragicomedy of life, she supposed.
“Let’s get some dessert, sweetheart. You can have a-”
“Strawberry cupcake!” Vi blurted in excitement.
“Shush, Viola.” Caitlyn put her finger to her lips, suddenly silencing her. “Do not yell in here.It is fine dining and you will not be this barbaric. Clear?” Of course, Caitlyn was bluffing. She loved seeing Vi excited for anything. The bright smile from the pink haired brawler always lifted her spirits. There was something so charming seeing someone who didn’t smile often smile, not the usual cocky smirk when she knows she’s going to win a fight or a tranquil curving of her lips when she’s peacefully snuggled in Caitlyn’s arms, but a genuine and sudden burst of excitement.
Caitlyn only shushed her to prove a point.
On the other side of the table, Vi was completely caught off guard. Was Caitlyn really mad?
‘Today, let me take control.’ she recalled. And suddenly, Vi went from terrified she had really upset Caitlyn to clenching her thighs and biting her lips in a sweet sudden rush of lust that shook her body. Fuck, she was so used to being in charge but seeing Caitlyn be mean and dominating awakened something in Vi she never knew even laid dormant in her.
“Y-yes, ma’am.” Vi whimpered.
Unfortunately, Caitlyn’s reddening cheeks revealed a bit more than she wanted. It was so embarrassing being so aggressive when she was normally so controlled rather than controlling. Under the table, she began shaking her legs, something she now did when she was out of her comfort zone, a habit contracted from Vi. She really was only doing this because she knew it’d be fun for Vi, letting her take her mind off things knowing she could count on Caitlyn to handle everything.
But her voice going a little higher in the pitch going ‘ma’am’, her cheeks turning into the same colour as her hair alongside her body almost caving in on itself, as if Vi somehow shrunk in size screamed to Caitlyn ‘please just fuck me now, please.’
Caitlyn feigned a cough and regained her composure, calling Harold over for a strawberry cupcake and a dessert you wouldn’t be faulted for assuming was tiramisu.
“Cupcake, are you enjoying this as much as I am?” Vi looked down at her plate to avoid eye contact.
“Hm? Yes, the dessert here is excellent.” Caitlyn responded, causing VI to groan. God, she needed to stop teasing her, she was getting far too riled up.
“No, I mean- like- this. The whole ‘you being in control’ thing. Because…” Vi trailed off, fumbling with the cupcake wrapper. She finished the whole thing in 5 bites. It wasn’t that big but it was perfect for her.
Caitlyn almost spit out her food, realising Vi meant the reversal of power and not the dessert. She was just an oblivious idiot.
“Because I am…” Vi finally looked up from her plate to stare Caitlyn in the eye, her own eyes pleading for Caitlyn to say the magic words ‘let’s go home now’.
Caitlyn let out a maniacal chuckle. “I enjoy knowing you’re in constant anguish, knowing that you’re my bitch today and you’ll squirm like the hot mess you are, Viola.” She emphasised the ‘a’. Again, she’s bluffing. This dominating facade was what Vi was enjoying, and Caitlyn wanted her to enjoy herself to the fullest. Not only that, but a submissive Vi was an incredibly sexy Vi, Caitlyn mused.
Vi sat there, and within seconds realised how little more she could take before she’d jump Caitlyn in public.
“Please, Caitlyn, can we go home…”
“And what would we do at home?” Caitlyn’s ears perked up at VI using her real name.
“A-anything you want, mistress. Please, please, pleeease…” Vi was almost panting and sweating, as if her body had been transported away from the chilly winter climate. Did they turn the heat up here? She felt Caitlyn’s hand sneakily stroking her thigh again, reaching up to places Caitlyn of all people should know would be considered indecent according to the local laws. Not like Caitlyn seemed to mind. VI desperately hoped Caitlyn wouldn’t reach much further up or she’d realise what a mess she had not only was but made too.
The word ‘mistress’ was the word Caitlyn never knew she wanted to hear so badly out of Vi’s mouth. If they weren’t in public, Caitlyn would have pounced on Vi right there and then. The role reversing couple took a breath and leaned back in their chairs, regaining some semblance of normalcy.
The bill came, of which Caitlyn paid for in full despite Harold offering a discount to Caitlyn for, ironically, diligently upholding the standard of the Enforcers in Piltover. She smiled and took Vi’s hand as they left the cafe, putting on their respective coats. With a ring of a bell and a goodbye echoing through the cafe, the cold air rushed in and the girlfriends rushed out.
“I love you, Cup- Caitlyn. M-mistress. Whatever...” Vi clutched Caitlyn’s hand tighter and looked away.
“I love you too, Violet.”
The two scurried back home, where Caitlyn would continue showing Vi why she was the topsider.
