Chapter 1: An Unexpected Event

Chapter Text

“Where is she?” Bloom asked herself as she waits for her best friend Zorana at an amusement park.

But just as she said that Zorana comes riding in on a blue ninja motorcycle and parked it.

And when she took off her helmet, it gave everyone a clear view of her face.

Which showed that she was a beautiful dark-skinned girl with purple eyes.

And colorful hair with the top being blue with the rest fading into golden yellow.

Furthermore, her hair was styled into two ponytails and were held together by two small white hairclips that were shaped like shiny scallop seashells.

Moreover, she was also wearing a little bit of makeup.

On her lips, she wore a nude brown colored lipstick, on her eyes she had on rainbow colored eyeshadow, and as a final addition, her nails were painted silver.

As an accessory, Zorana wore an opened circle moonstone necklace that had two koi fish on one side.

For her outfit she wore a white crisscross crop top, with a black mid sleeve cropped jacket, black fingerless gloves.

High-waisted denim shorts, and black high-heeled ankle boots that were laced up and had buckles wrapped them for show.

Zorana puts her helmet in the seat compartment and puts a chain lock on the wheel.

Looking at Bloom, Zorana waves at her and said, “Hey Bloom!”

“You’re late!” Bloom said in irritation.

Zorana chuckles apologetically. “Sorry, I got caught in traffic.” She then does a dismissive wave.

“But that’s neither here nor there. Right now, we need to enjoy our summer vacation before I have to leave for Alfea.”

Bloom nods her head and with that the two girls went into the amusement park.

“I can’t believe you’re leaving; it won’t be the same without you.”

Zorana smiles as she playfully bumps her shoulder against Bloom’s.

“Same, but I don’t know why you’re acting like you’ll be lonely; you’ll have Selina.”

“I know but she’s been distant ever since Mitzi pulled that mean prank on her on the last day of school.”

“And I’ve tried to comfort her but she just…shuts me out.” Bloom proclaimed.

Zorana frowns when she remembers that day.

Mitzi decided to play a mean prank by giving Selina a fake love letter from her then crush to meet her somewhere.

And when she got there, she had red paint and glitter dumped onto her head by Mitzi’s friends.

And as Mitzi and her friends laugh at her, they took pictures and posted them all over the internet.

She became a laughingstock because of that and did not leave her house for days.

“Not surprising, Mitzi went way too far with that prank.” Zorana said in anger.

But she then smiles, “But…it isn’t all bad.” Bloom looked at her in confusion. “How can it not be that bad?”

“Selina locked herself in her room to the point that her mom had to unscrew the handle just to get in!”

Smirking proudly, Zorana chuckles as she swings her arm over Bloom’s shoulder.

“Because I gave Mitzi a taste of her own medicine and it’ll be a miracle if she remains popular by the new school year.”

Now interested, Bloom snorted in amusement since when Zorana gets back at someone for wronging her or her loved ones.

The person will soon be rethinking their life choices by the time she’s done with them. “What did you do?”

“Let’s see, I posted an old yearbook picture of Mitzi when she was a frizzy-haired, brace-face to social media."

"Moreover, I had made sure to tag every single one of the cool kids.”

“Also, you remember that spring break beach party that Mitzi had invited us to so she could show off again?”

Bloom nods her head and gives her a look asking her if she think she’s stupid?

“Of course. It’s hard to forget a party that we had to bounce from 5 minutes upon arrival. After finding out that Mitzi had snuck alcohol into it.”

The rainbow haired girl smiles impishly and chuckles with mischief.

“Well, before we left for blackmail purposes. I may have taken pictures and recorded Mitzi drinking with her friends.”

Bloom gasped in shock as she realized what Zorana was telling her. “Oh my god, did you post that online too?”

The smile on Zorana’s face widens. “Even better, I sent the video footage along with Selina’s footage to Mitzi’s mom.”

“And the agency that houses the Miss Gardenia Beauty pageant.”

Snorting, Bloom covers her mouth to muffle her uncontrollable laughter at hearing that tidbit of information.

Mitzi’s Mom is a nice hardworking woman that is a lot more compassionate than her daughter.

But she is also stern and would punish Mitzi accordingly if she ever found out she was misbehaving.

She then looks at Zorana in curiosity and asked, “So how severe was her punishment?”

“Extremely~” Zorana said in an overexcited sing song tone.

Zorana was about to explain what happened, but she noticed that they were close to a dunk tank.

And as they walked by, someone managed to hit the target.

Dunking the person in the chair and splashing water, which was heading straight towards them.

Shrieking in fear, Zorana quickly grabs Bloom and pushed her in front of her as a shield.

“UGH! Zora!” Bloom groaned in annoyance.

Zorana looks at Bloom apologetically and took a few steps back from her.

“Sorry Bloom, you know how I get when I’m near water.”

Bloom scoffed as she pushed her wet bangs out of her face. “Don’t I know it.”

Seeing her plight, one of the staff workers was nice enough to hand Bloom a towel that he usually gives to the people that get dunked.

Giving them her thanks, Bloom wiped herself off before handing it back.

Walking away, the girls went back to what they were talking about.

“Anyways, Mitzi lost her credit cards, her allowance, her electronics. And best of all, she has to spend the rest of the summer staying and helping her grandparents."

“Who live on a farm in a very remote area out in the countryside and have a distaste for new age technology.”

“So, to add salt into the wound Mitzi’s going to be off the grid for a while.”

Bloom snorts in amusement, knowing that Mitzi’s summer is going to be miserable.

Serves that entitled, spoiled brat right.

“Additionally, one of the workers at the beauty pageant agency absolutely hated Mitzi for being a spoiled brat.”

Zorana chuckles for a moment as she thinks about what the agency did in response to the video and smiles impishly at Bloom as she continues.

“So, the second that they saw the videos.”

“That gave them all the reason they needed to convince their associates to have Mitzi blacklisted from their agency and sister agencies for life.”

Bloom gasped in shock before she covers her mouth with her hand to stop herself from laughing.

“Oh my god, you absolutely destroyed her.”

Zorana chuckles and does a haughty hair flip.

“I know, and now we don’t have to deal with the royal pain in the ass for the rest of our summer.”

“I’ll make sure to tell Selina later. She’s going to love this.” Bloom proclaimed.

And so, the fun had commenced, and they were having a grand time.

After enjoying some of the rides the girls had taken a break and had gotten some cotton candy.

But as they were enjoying their sugary treat, Zorana noticed how down Bloom looked.

“Bloom, are you ok?”

Bloom sighed and looked at her best friend, “I’m fine I just…I’m really going to miss you.”

“I’m going to miss you too. But hey, we have all summer before I have to leave. So, we should just enjoy it while it lasts.”

Feeling a little better, Bloom nods her head and smiles as she bites into her cotton candy.

And so, they went back to having the time of their life.

Once it was time to go, they went their separate ways and bid each other farewell.

Finally arriving back home, Zorana sighed as she goes to her apartment building and up to the top floor.

“I’m home.” She proclaimed.

She then looks to see her aunt Gwyn in the kitchen.

And just by looking at her, people can tell that Gwyn and she are related.

But the only difference was that Gwyn has striking crystal blue eyes that looked stark white at the center and her hair was white.

“How was the amusement park?” Gwyn asked.

“It was fun.” Zorana answered.

Stretching her arms above her head, Zorana lets out a groan, but she then hums in delight when her back lets out a satisfying pop.

“Dinner will be ready in an hour.” Gwyn proclaimed.

“Ok.” Zorana replied as she goes into her room.

Falling onto her bed, Zorana sighed as she laid there for a second before a white blur jumps on top of her.

Zorana giggles as she looks down at her loveable pet, Leroy the Ferret.

Who was white, minus the small patch of black fur on his back that was oddly enough, shaped like wings.

“Hey boy, how’s my loveable ball of fluff.” She asked lovingly.

Leroy lets out a small squeak and licks her nose.

Giggling, Zorana pets him on the head. “Aww, I miss you too baby boy.”

Soon Leroy settled down and went to sleep on her stomach.

Sighing again, Zorana went back to staring at her ceiling for a few more minutes.

After that she turned her head to the right and spotted a picture of her and Bloom on her desk.

Snapping her finger, the picture frame is lifted and floats over to her.

Looking at the picture frame, Zorana smiles halfheartedly and caresses the edge.

She then places it on her nightstand and lets out another sigh.

Soon time passed and the days after that was spent with Zorana, Bloom, and sometimes their friend Selina having the time of their lives.

However, despite summer vacation not being over for another two weeks. It was time for Zorana to leave since her school starts the next day.

After putting everything away, Zorana bids her aunt farewell.

“Buy Auntie! I’m off to meet up with Bloom!” Zorana exclaimed.

“Bye Sweetie!”

Getting on her bike, Zorana drives off.

Meanwhile at Bloom’s house, the young girl was still fast asleep.

Walking into her room, Vanessa looks down at her daughter with a smile.

“Wake up, sleepyhead! The sun's been up for ages!”

Groaning, Bloom turns away from her mom.

“Just five more minutes, Mom!”

Getting an idea, Vanessa leans in and said, “You're late Bloom!”

Gasping in horror, Bloom quickly sits up and said, “School? Oh, no!”

Jumping out of the bed, Bloom began to get dressed.

“Why didn't you wake me up before?! Ooh, the alarm didn't go off!”

“Oh nooo, I can't believe this...”

After getting her shirt on, Bloom realized something.

“Hang on a sec, school's out, the alarm didn't go off because I'm on vacation!”

She looks at her mother in annoyance at the trick. “Oh Mom, your joke is not funny!”

“Ah, but you fell for it, didn't you?” Vanessa said with a smirk.

Slumping over, Bloom walks back to her bed. “I'm sleepy. I'm going back to bed!” She proclaimed and got back under the covers.

“You should try to go to bed earlier you know. You were up really late last night.” Vanessa stated.

Seeing books on the floor, Vanessa bends down to pick them up.

“I was reading!” Bloom proclaimed.

“The Lost Fairy.” Vanessa said reading the title.

She lets out a playful groan and looked at her daughter. “Ugh... don't you ever get tired of these silly things?”

“They're not silly, OK!?” Bloom said in her defense.

“Besides, you can’t possibly think I would be able to put down a book that Zora wrote herself. She’s an amazing storyteller.”

Vanessa smiled at the kind gesture. “Aww, I think that’s sweet. But I would have to agree, that girl will be a wonderful writer one day.”

Setting the books down on Bloom’s desk, Vanessa looks back at her with a smirk.

“Speaking of Zora, aren’t you supposed to be meeting up with her at the park….”

Vanessa looks down at her nonexistent watch on her wrist and said, “…Right now.”

Gasping in horror, Bloom quickly gets up. “Nooooo! I completely forgot!”

Bloom ran past her mother so fast that Vanessa’s hair blew back in response to the wind.

Vanessa stood there in shock for a moment before she giggles.

Getting downstairs, Bloom goes into the kitchen and brings out the mini griddle.

Where she made a quick cheesy egg and turned it into an egg sandwich, with syrup added on top.

Looking up from his newspaper, Mike looked at his daughter in confusion. “Syrup on a cheesy egg sandwich?”

“It gives it a sweet flavor.” Bloom said nonchalantly.

Humming happily, she ate her sandwich and drank her apple juice in one gulp.

“I’m done! I’ll see you guys later!” Bloom said as she puts her dishes in the sink.

And she was about to leave but Mike called out to her. “Wait just a moment Bloom.”

Stopping in her tracks, Bloom looked at her dad.

“What is it dad?” She asked.

“Well, your mother and I know how much you wanted a bike. So…”

Bloom gasped happily. “Really? Thanks dad!”

Running outside, Bloom was expecting to see a scooter or a motorcycle, but to her disappointment and surprise it was just a regular bike.

Coming out the door as well, Mike and Vanessa stood right next to her.

“Nice, huh?” Mike commented.

Trying to hide her disappointment, Bloom tried to say something nice.

“Uhh... well... yeah... thanks.”

Walking to her bike, once Bloom was sure that she was out of her parents’ line of view she sticks out her tongue.

“See? She doesn't know what to say!” Mike said to Vanessa.

As Bloom picks her bike up, Kiko runs out of the house and jumps into the basket.

Vanessa frowns, already knowing that her daughter probably wanted something cooler.

“I don't know, maybe she was expecting something a bit more... sophisticated?”

Mike raises an eyebrow as he takes a guess on what she meant by, “Sophisticated.”

“A bicycle with a speedometer, maybe?”

Vanessa sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose before looking at her husband and told him bluntly.

“Mike, you know that Bloom always wanted a motorcycle Like Zora or a scooter at least.”

“But scooters and motorcycles are dangerous, and they cost a bundle!”

He sighs and rubs the back of his head. “It’s bad enough Zora rides one and gives Bloom rides.”

And with that Mike and Vanessa walk back inside.

“We'll try to put some money aside. Maybe next year, we can get her one.” Vanessa stated.

Walking along the sidewalk, Bloom sighed in dismay.

“He'll never change... my dad will never let me ride anything faster than a bicycle.”

“Oh Bloom!”

Stopping in her tracks, Bloom looks to her left and saw Cassandra, Mitzi’s mother.

Who looked exactly like her daughter except that her eyes were emerald green.

Furthermore, she was wearing a very expensive gray business suit with black pumps.

“Oh, hello Miss Cassandra. How’s your day been?”

“It’s been fine dear, but I wanted to ask if you would like Mitzi’s new scooter.”

She then gestured to a pickup truck that was unloading the purple-colored scooter.

“My husband and I forgot that we pre-ordered it as a present for her last report card.”

Bloom looks at her with an emotionless stare. “Yeah, Mitzi blackmailed Selina to do her homework and let her copy off her test sheets.”

Cassandra sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.

“I should have made her punishment more severe. I wonder where I went wrong with that girl.”

“You shouldn’t blame yourself miss Cassandra.” Bloom proclaimed.

“My mom says that sometimes kids don’t turn out the way you’d expect despite their upbringing.”

She shrugs her shoulders and adds, “For better or for worse.”

Cassandra sighed and nodded her head at Vanessa’s words of wisdom. “Your mother does have a point.”

“But to answer your question, you’ll have to ask my parents or better yet my dad.”

Cassandra looked at the obviously brand-new bike with a knowing smile.

She points at it and says, “Let me guess, Mike got you that?”

Bloom nods her head.

The businesswoman chuckled in amusement at her old friend’s antics.

“Very well, I’ll talk to them. Have a lovely day Bloom and tell Zora I said hi.”

“I will.” Bloom said as she gets on her bike and rides away.

Turning a corner, once they were out of earshot, Bloom began to talk to Kiko.

“Honestly, Kiko. I will never understand how someone as vapid and cruel as Mitzi. Could have such hardworking and kindhearted parents.”

“It’s a good thing her younger sister is inheriting the family company and not her.”

Bloom scoffed and spoke in a snide tone.

“Knowing her she’d probably run four generations of hard work into the ground in less than a month.”

Making her way to the park, Bloom smiled when she saw Zorana playing with Leroy.

Getting of her bike, Bloom walked the rest of the way to her.

“Hey, Zora!” She greeted.

Zorana smiles at her friend, “Bloom, late I see.”

“I slept in ok, I was up all night reading your book.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

Setting Kiko down, the blue bunny immediately ran over to Leroy and the two began to run around each other.

“Go on, Kiko, but stick around, all right?”

And with that both Kiko and Leroy ran off to play.

Bloom chuckled as she sits down next to Zorana and eats an apple.

“You know it’s amazing that those two are friends when their natural enemies in the wild.” She remarked.

“True, I remember how apprehensive your mom was when I brought Leroy over for the first time.”

Zorana then shrugs her shoulders nonchalantly. “Can’t blame her though.”

“I’d be worried too if I had a daughter, and her friend one day brings an animal. That is not only carnivorous but has rabbits in its dietary plan.”

The girls laugh but that was halted when Kiko and Leroy came back.

With the former screaming his little mind before stopping at the girls’ feet and collapsing forward.

And Leroy bites down on Bloom’s pants leg and pulled it forward.

Soon Kiko got up and began to do the same to Zorana’s sleeve.

“What's the matter, guys?” Bloom asked, confused.

Kiko and Leroy continued to babble in panic.

“Hmm, something’s wrong. I’ve never seen Leroy this skittish.” Bloom stated.

“Yeah, and when I met him, he bit me after I rescued him from an alley cat.” Zorana remarked.

Leroy momentarily let go of Bloom’s pants leg and hisses angrily at Zorana for bringing that up.

“I know, I know. You’re sorry. But hey, I still took you home with me despite this.”

Getting up, Zorana holds out her hand to Bloom.

“Come on, we better see what spooked them.”

Nodding her head, Bloom takes Zora’s hand and gets off the floor.

With that Kiko and Leroy began to lead them to what spooked them.

Hearing noises, the girls hide behind a tree and observe what was happening.

Which to their shock was a blonde fairy fighting off a bunch of ghouls?

“A fairy?!” Zorana said in shock.

She then took noticed of the blue scepter in her hand.

Her eyes widening with recognition, Zorana gasps and mutters under her breath. “Oh my god.”

“Rising Sun!” The blonde fairy exclaimed and blasted a ghoul away.

“Wow...” Bloom muttered and looked down at Kiko and Leroy, who were on a stump.

“Goodness! Did you see that, Kiko?”

Kiko faints but Leroy just hissed and glares at the ghouls.

Holding up her scepter, the blonde fairy glared at the ghouls as her body glowed brightly.

“Solar Wind!” She exclaimed and slammed her scepter onto the ground.

Which knocked the ghouls back, but one was grabbed by a giant yellow hand.

Which was subsequently crushed into dust by whatever grabbed it.

And that “whatever” soon walked out of the shadows to reveal an ogre.

“An ogre?” Zorana muttered in disbelief.

Glaring at the ogre, the blonde fairy gave him one warning.

“Go away, you villain! Or you will feel the magic of the Sun and Moon Fairy!”

Roaring, the ogre charges forward and knocks her down before she could even attempt to defend herself.

Bloom gasped and placed her hand over her mouth. “That’s gotta hurt!”

Soon the ogre and ghouls surround the fairy.

“You're finished little fairy girl!” The ogre proclaimed.

“Good heavens!” Bloom muttered.

“Ghoulies! Take the scepter!” The ogre ordered.

Running forward, the ghouls hold the fairy down, who was now struggling to break free.

“I'm warning you! You'll never get away with this!”

One ghoul snatches the scepter from her and makes its way over to the ogre.

“I think I just did.” The ogre said as he snatches the scepter from the ghoul. “Gimme that scepter!”

Walking over to the fairy, he gets in her face and smirked down at her.

“Not so brave now, are you?” He taunted.

Zorana sighed in annoyance, knowing what she’s going to have to do. “That’s it!” She hissed as she walks out behind the trees.

Following her lead, Bloom walked out as well.

“Let her go! Or else we’ll…” Bloom said before she stops herself and asked, “Wait, what am we going to do?”

“This…Bloom, cover your eyes!”” Zorana said as she held out her hand, which began to glow a vairy of color.

While shocked at this sight, Bloom still listened to Zorana and places her hands over her eyes.

“Dazzling light!”

And the result was a bright light that blinded the ogre and ghouls.

And while they were distracted, Zorana slightly bends her knees as an aura of color enveloped her body.

“Light-speed!”

Suddenly Zorana disappeared in a beam of rainbow-colored light that traveled all the way over to the Ogre.

Once she was close enough, Zora’s body had reformed but it was only for a second so she could grab the scepter from the ogre’s hands.

Once she had it, she went back to Bloom’s side.

Groaning, the ogre rubbed his eyes and when he saw the scepter, he was furious.

“GET THEEEEEEM!!” He ordered.

Bloom opened her eyes and gasped in fear when she saw the ghouls charging towards them.

Zorana narrows her eyes as she got ready to do another spell.

But Bloom suddenly held her hand out in fear and yelled out, “Get back!”

Which unexpectedly caused Bloom to create a barrier out of energy, which repelled the ghouls from them.

Zorana blinks in shock and then looks at Bloom, her eyes slowly growing wide with realization.

Her jaw dropping to the floor, she still stared at Bloom as she muttered, “Oh…my…god.”

Realizing what she just did, Bloom looked down at her hands in shock.

“Huh? What just happened? How did I do that?”

Kiko cheers and starts to do boxing moves, but both him and Leroy notice two ghouls behind them.

And while he turns white with fear and faints, Leroy lets out a loud hiss as he jumps onto one of the Ghouls faces.

Where he began to bite and claw its eyes out.

The other ghoul however was about to attack the now unconscious rabbit.

But he feels someone tapping his shoulder and speaking to him. “Hey, Ghoul.”

The ghoul looks up at Bloom, who was holding up a very thick branch.

“Hands off Kiko! Take off!” She exclaimed and delivered a powerful strike.

Which sent the ghoul flying into a tree and exploding upon impact.

She stands triumphant, and Zorana looked at her impressed.

But their victory was short lived as the ogre ran over to them.

And while he knocks Bloom out of the way, he grabs Zorana by her wrists before she could do anything.

“Come here! I'll smash you like a China doll!” He exclaimed.

Bloom gasped before she became angry. So angry in fact, that her body started to glow brightly like she had an inner fire inside her.

“LET GO OF HER!” She exclaimed and extended her hand again.

But this time an even brighter light combusted from her body as a creature made of light and fire came forth.

Not only was the ogre slightly blinded by the light, but the creature rushed towards him and knocked him down.

Zorana groans as she falls to the ground and looks up as the light creature flies into the sky before exploding.

“Whoa!” She muttered, even more shocked than before.

The blonde fairy on the other hand was very impressed. “Wow, powerful!”

Getting up, she goes over to Zorana and held out her hand.

“Are you ok?” She asked.

Grabbing the scepter from the ground, Zorana reaches out with her free hand and is helped up.

“Yeah.” She replied and held out the scepter to the blonde fairy. “Here.”

The blonde fairy takes it and gives her a thankful smile.

They both then went over to Bloom, who looked exhausted.

“Are you ok?” The blonde fairy asked.

“Uh... yeah...” Bloom muttered.

The fairy then looks at the ogre and glared at him.

“I have my scepter back. You don't scare me anymore!” She proclaimed.

Charging her scepter with her magic, she blasts it at the ogre, knocking him back.

“Only returning the compliment, you beast!” She stated.

Soon the ghouls minus the one that is still getting mauled to death by Leroy started to close in.

“Watch out!” Bloom warned.

The ghouls leap forward but the Fairy’s body started to glow brightly again.

Raising her scepter, she twirls it around for a second before swinging it down.

Sending a bright flash of light that knocks them towards Leroy and the other ghoul.

But Leroy noticed them and quickly jumped away. Resulting in the ghouls landing on their mauled comrade and exploding upon impact.

However, there was one ghoul that survived, and it quickly went over to Bloom, where it grabbed her leg and bit down on her pants.

“Get off me!” She exclaimed fearfully.

“Bloom!” Zorana exclaimed as her right arm turns into water and quickly smacks the ghoul away.

While it did work, the ghoul now had a piece of Bloom’s pants leg in its mouth, and it quickly runs back to the ogre’s side.

Who growled as he places his hand together and disappears as he says, “We'll meet again, Princess Stella!

“Thank goodness they're gone at last!” Stella proclaimed in relief.

Groaning with exhaustion, Stella faints and as she laid there on the ground, her clothes changed to her normal clothes.

“Hey! Are you alright? Answer me!” Bloom said as she kneels before Stella and shook her shoulder.

“Bloom she’s obviously exhausted, we should head back to my place.” Zorana stated.

“Maybe my dad can help, he does have medical training after all.” She narrows her eyes at her friend. “Beside you have a lot of explaining to do.”

Zorana looks at her with a deer caught in headlights expression before she changes the subject.

“Not as much as you. When could you do that?” She asked and gestured to the small crater on the ground.

“Uh…I don’t know. I didn’t even know I could do that.” Bloom admitted.

She then glares at her. “And don’t try to change the subject!”

“Damn.” Zorana muttered under her breath.

And with that the girls and their pets took their leave with Stella and headed back to Bloom’s home.
