“Ani,” she gasps, blood trickling from the back of her head. The boy, Ani, gives a small cry, and tries to grab for her again.

The Jedi Order falls when Anakin is a child. Obi-Wan and a band of fellow Jedi Knights are on the run from the Empire, until they are separated in an attack. Crash landing on Tatooine, Obi-Wan finds an angry human child and his Togruta sister, hidden among the Tuskens. All the child will tell him is that his mother is dead and he wishes Obi-Wan was, too.
