Work Text:

There were two weeks left until New Year, and Gusu was buried under a thick layer of snow. The people on the streets were covered in heavy robes and furred coats, their breaths turning into fluffy clouds as they laughed. The foodstalls were billowing with steam and the smell of tantalizing fried dough and warm buns. Wei Wuxian kicked at a mound of snow as he rushed into the main street of Caiyi Town, nearly vibrating with cheer, and Lan Wangji followed sedately at his back.

“Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan, come on!” Wei Wuxian said and he darted back to latch onto Lan Wangji’s arm, tugging him as he laughed, “The boat ride you promised is waiting for us, Hanguang-jun! At that speed, the river will have frozen over before we reach it!”

“It is not cold enough for that,” Lan Wangji replied, deliberately unhurried. "And I have to commission the seamstress first."

Wei Wuxian huffed. “Of course you do. Do you also have to eat a second lunch and write down a copy of Conduct and Virtue each before we ride that boat?”

“Hm,” Lan Wangji seemed to consider this, tilting his head, “The rules broken yesterday night and this morning… Yes, Conduct and Virtue should be copied thrice, and perhaps also Righteousness: Do not stay up after nine, do not wake after five. Do not be promiscuous. Do not cause harm to one’s spous—”

“Oh now you remember that?” Wei Wuxian interrupted as he angrily hit Lan Wangji on the arm he was holding onto, and Lan Wangji’s eyes rose in their centres as if he was smiling, though he wasn’t. Wei Wuxian turned to wag one finger at Lan Wangji like a scolding teacher, trying very hard to keep his own smile down. “If you copied a book for every rule you broke at night, there wouldn’t be enough time for you to make it up to your poor husband!”

“That is indeed true,” Lan Wangji said, before looking at Wei Wuxian from the corner of his eyes, “For me as well as you.”

“That— ahem, that subject is neither here nor now! Now, come on, let’s speak of more relevant topics,” Wei Wuxian said, and he raised his head with the air of an elder imparting great wisdom. “Speak, A-Zhan! Will you go on that damn boat ride date with your husband or not?”

“Will,” Lan Wangji nodded obediently.

“And will you let your husband share a cloak with you on that damn boat ride?”

“Will,” Lan Wangji nodded.

Wei Wuxian paused, peeking over at Lan Wangji, who seemed to be having great fun playing along to Wei Wuxian’s elder/junior routine. “And…” Wei Wuxian said, “Will you say something in the Gusu dialect while on that boat ride?”

“Wi—” Lan Wangji stopped at the exact right time, turning a disapproving glance towards Wei Wuxian. “Wei Ying.”

“Aw, come onnnn!” Wei Wuxian pouted, now that his stint was up, “It sounds so good, Lan Zhan, like you couldn’t believe it! Just something small. One sentence! No, no— one word! Call me husband in the Gusu dialect!”

“No, husband,” Lan Wangji said without a single trace of that soft, flowing dialect that Wei Wuxian had come to yearn for.

Wei Wuxian pouted even harder. “What about wife?”

“No.”

“…Wei-gege?”

“No.”

“How about Wei-gege, but without the dialect?”

Lan Wangji didn't answer for a long time, long enough that Wei Wuxian felt his hopes build, and build, and build, before—

“No.”

—they were crushed afoot, much like soggy, sad snow underneath the boots of passerbys.

Wei Wuxian turned to look at Lan Wangji with his most miserable teary-eyed face, trying to communicate the emotion of you're bullying me but not in the sexy way to him, only to see Lan Wangji looking away to hide his own amused expression.

“Ah!” Wei Wuxian gasped, dramatically betrayed, “You’re making fun of me! Your own spouse! You are taking entertainment out of my pain! Who would have known that Hanguang-jun was such a cruel person!”

“Who indeed,” Lan Wangji murmured, and Wei Wuxian couldn’t hold in his laughter this time.

“Aiyah, Lan Zhan, no one ever believes me when I say you have a great sense of humour, it’s so tragic!” He laughed, “You’re being wasted Lan Zhan!”

“Hm,” Lan Wangji said doubtfully.

“It’s true! You Lans are always—” Wei Wuxian paused, suddenly noticing that they were no longer walking, “Oh hey we’re there!”

They stood in front of the small front of the tailor shop belonging to the seamstress that Lan Wangji used for those different robes that the Lan Sect tailors just didn't make. A single, hip-height snowman stood at the corner of it, abandoned by the children that must have constructed it.

Lan Wangji turned to face Wei Wuxian before reaching over and pulling the collar of Wei Wuxian’s fluffy cloak tighter over his neck. When it was as tight as it went, he made a single satisfied hm sound before stepping back away from Wei Wuxian.

“You wait right there, mister!” Wei Wuxian said as he grabbed Lan Wangji’s own cloak, light blue to Wei Wuxian’s dark red, reeling Lan Wangji back in by his hold on the fabric. Once Lan Wangji was standing in front of him, he made sure to reciprocate, pulling his husband’s cloak tightly closed.

Finally satisfied, Wei Wuxian patted Lan Wangji’s chest. He pushed himself up to peck him once on the lips.

“Please don't spend so much time choosing patterns that the river actually freezes over,” He said, grinning, “I’m going to go buy us sweets from Old Man Zhou!”

“Mn,” Lan Wangji said with that familiar, lingering expression on his face that appeared whenever Wei Wuxian returned his affections, which was the exact reason why Wei Wuxian did so religiously, as often as he could, and he stepped away reluctantly to head towards the shop.

Wei Wuxian watched his husband until he walked into the tailor shop and disappeared behind the door, noting how Lan Wangji’s eyes as he opened the door could only be described as glimmering. Lan Wangji and that seamstress seemed to have a deep bond of mutual appreciation for beautiful fabric and ostentatious robes, and Wei Wuxian was pretty sure that it had only deepened further after Lan Wangji’s overly eager strength started tearing their robes often enough that the Lan seamstresses were now actively snubbing Lan Wangji.

Wei Wuxian let out a small chuckle that turned into an equally small cloud, raising his hand to his lips to find them stretched into a smile. He shook his head before leaving while humming a cheerful tune.

Old Man Zhou’s stall was just a minute away from the tailor shop, and Wei Wuxian walked slowly, watching the tufty fall of snow from the white clouds. Ahead, a boisterous chatter erupted, and Wei Wuxian glanced curiously over there to find that a crowd had collected around one of those stalls that usually only had one or two customers.

“Hmm?” Wei Wuxian wandered closer to the stall right in time to see the crowd cheer again.

Then, one little boy dressed in an almost rounded multitude of cloaks and robes dashed out of the crowd with a splitting grin on his face, holding up what seemed to be a glass goldfish on a stick. “Mom!” He screamed happily, “Mom look what the jiejie made for me! Candy!!”

Blinking, Wei Wuxian pushed his way through the crowd. With a heavy application of his sharp elbows, he managed to make it to the very front, and he found there a tiny old candy stall manned by a young woman.

“Come, come!” The young lady was laughing in that soft tumble of the Gusu dialect, which immediately bolstered Wei Wuxian’s mood, “Come get your own candy animals! Who wants one?”

“Me, me!” Wei Wuxian hurried to say, waving his hand in the air as he came to stand right in front of the girl, “This talented meimei, your goldfish was so realistic! Your art is just as beautiful as you are! Choose me please!”

“Thank you, young master,” The lady said with a grin, “All that practice was worth it to receive a compliment from a handsome guy like you. What would you like to have? I can make most birds and fishes.”

“How could that be? It’s worth far more than a single compliment,” Wei Wuxian said, before declaring in a snobby manner; “I shall pay at least two silver taels if this meimei makes me two candy rabbits as nice as that goldfish! How about that? Worth the price?”

The crowd around them let out hisses of appreciation, and the lady’s smile brightened in excitement.

“Worth, worth!” The young lady immediately accepted, “I’ve never made rabbits before though, is young master sure? My birds and fish are much more practiced.”

“It must be rabbits. Nothing works but rabbits!” Wei Wuxian said, leaning closer to whisper to the lady with a sly smile, “See, meimei, my husband over there in the tailor shop is a big fan of rabbits! I want to surprise him with one, alright? So you must make it very nice, please!”

“…it will take some time,” The girl said as she nodded with a fiery gaze, “But for the young master, and that silver tael, I will make an amazing rabbit no matter how long it takes!”

Wei Wuxian laughed at the honesty of her words, and said; “Then feel free to make as many as you need before a good one comes out, and we’ll gift the practice candies to the people here!”

The crowd cheered. “Young master, you're the best!”

“Yes! Free candy!”

“Thank you, Young Master!”

Within a few minutes, almost every child and a few adults were equipped with their own candy rabbits of various weird shapes. The lady worked very hard, true to word, and her scissors moved and cut the softened candy rapidly before it could harden, shaping tiny paws and long ears with increasingly more skill.

Wei Wuxian oohed and aahed at every rabbit she made, before, at the eleventh candy, she ended up with something that looked very much like a rabbit, though its face was a bit lopsided.

“Almost there, Young Master!” The lady said in a bubbly voice, handing the lopsided rabbit to a little girl making grabby hands from the side. “Aiyah, this is going to be a great profit!! Did you know, Young Master, this is actually my father’s candy stall. He wanted to teach candy making to my big brother, but I said— I can make them much better than Dada, teach it to me instead! So now Dada works at the farm like he wanted, and I get to make candies!”

Aaaah, the Gusu dialect! Wei Wuxian sighed in his heart. He had held this dialect very close to his chest ever since that day when he stayed up all night for some talisman or the other, though he could no longer remember specifically which one it had been, and he had gone to bed just before five, whispering goodnight to his husband. And then, in the haze of his dreams, Lan Wangji had slipped and mumbled it’s not five yet, dada, in the softest, most lovely set of sounds Wei Wuxian had ever heard in his entire life.

And Wei Wuxian had been struck violently by the desire to hear Lan Wangji speak to him in his native dialect ever since.

Unfortunately though, it had yet to happen. Lan Wangji was probably too embarrassed in that silent, invisible way he sometimes got, and Wei Wuxian hadn't been able to find the right incentive to tempt him past it.

“Well, Young Master?” The young lady asked, and Wei Wuxian snapped out of his thoughts, “How’s this one?”

She raised a stick that had a white, glassy bunny depicted mid-jump on it. The sugar bunny was so realistic that the winter sun glinting on its eyes seemed to give it a spark of life. Wei Wuxian let out a long sound of shock and awe. “Wow… meimei, I seem to have underestimated your craft,” He said, “To think that I would find a celestial artist in a beautiful miss manning a roadside stall… I must have been too blinded by your youthful looks and missed your skill!”

“Look at this young master, such a silver tongue!” The young lady laughed, a little abashed, “Nice words won’t get you a discount you know!”

“No, no, what discount? I should be giving you more money not less!” Wei Wuxian grinned, “You will make the next rabbit as pretty as this one right? I have high expectations!”

“Of course, of course, for this handso—”

The lady froze with her words still in her mouth.

The once cheery crowd around them opened slowly, revealing the stony approach of one icy-faced Hanguang-jun, his dark hair and snow-white robes billowing behind him. He took his every step as if he was pressing down an evildoer with his pristine boots. His eyes were like shards of gold crystal.

Wei Wuxian felt his mouth go dry.

“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji said, “The boat ride.”

Wei Wuxian tried to collect his scattered brain back in order. “Right, right, right— boat! Hold on, Lan Zhan, I just need to buy another candy from this really nice lady and we’ll—”

“No.” Lan Wangji said, already walking towards him, and he grabbed Wei Wuxian’s arm as he continued walking away from the stall. “The river will freeze.”

“Wait, wait, aah—” Wei Wuxian stumbled in place, before making a panicked split-second lunge to grab the candy rabbit and to leave the two taels he had promised on the stall, “Thank you, meimei! I’ll be going now— Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan, aiyah slow down! I’m going to drop the candy!”

“Hmph. Good.” Lan Wangji kept powerwalking through the street and tugging Wei Wuxian along with himself.

“Hey Lan Zhan slow down!!” Wei Wuxian pouted as he kept being tugged through the roads and towards the river where their boat would be waiting for them, “I was still talking to that lady! She was talking about her dada! You know how much I like the Gusu dialect, you cheapskate, you won’t speak it to me, and you also won’t let me listen to others speak it!”

Although Wei Wuxian couldn’t see anything but one ear, somehow he got the feeling that Lan Wangji was angry. His steps were brusque, and his hold on Wei Wuxian’s wrist tight and desperate. He seemed to emit this very…

Hm, this very wronged, type of air.

“You…” Wei Wuxian muttered, before laughing delightedly, hopping to catch up to Lan Wangji and shaking the candy rabbit in front of his cold face, “Are you jealous? Are you jealous of the candy-lady, Lan Zhan? Hm? Lan Zhan, my husband, my one and only love, you’re jealous of the woman that made one candy for us?”

Lan Wangji turned his face sharply away. “You think her looks are beautiful and youthful,” He muttered, displeased. “If you wish to speak to her, do as you wish.”

“Aiyah, Lan Zhan you’re really jealous of her!” Wei Wuxian moved to slip his free hand into Lan Wangji’s squeezing it twice before Lan Wangji glanced back at him. “The most beautiful, the most youthful looks obviously belong to my lovely husband! Come, see, see, didn't I flirt with her to get you this rabbit candy? She wasn’t making rabbits, but she made it for you!”

“Hm,” Lan Wangji said, sounding greatly unconvinced.

“I asked one each for both of us, but because you pulled me away so fast, I could only get a single one…” Wei Wuxian sighed, making himself sound saddened as he raised the rabbit candy and looked at it mournfully, “Now what will we do? How can I bear to break such a pretty candy in half? It seems that we will forever be unable to taste this c—”

Lan Wangji stopped abruptly in the middle of the street and swept Wei Wuxian closer to himself, before he leant down to bite the candy with a resounding crack.

While Wei Wuxian was still standing in shock, Lan Wangji broke off the lower half of the rabbit with his teeth, no mercy whatsoever, and pulled away from the remaining half of the candy rabbit, chewing with a small, pointed bobbing of his lips.

Wei Wuxian once again felt his mouth dry and his belly grow hot. “…or we can do it that way,” He whispered, swallowing. He managed to ask, eventually; “Tastes good?”

Lan Wangji finished the candy before he spoke. “Mn,” He said, his eyes darker as he looked at Wei Wuxian, and he simply asked; “Wei Ying. The boat ride?”

“Yeah. Yeah, yeah, boat ride,” Wei Wuxian agreed, “Yes. Right.”

“Hm,” Lan Wangji said, visibly satisfied with Wei Wuxian state of distress.

He was a very jealous man, that Lan Wangji.

It was probably one of the reasons why Wei Wuxian loved him so much.

After they rode that boat around the snowy shores of Caiyi Town, they went back to the Cloud Recesses so that Wei Wuxian could teach an afternoon class and Lan Wangji could finish the truly unnecessary amount of paperwork that the approaching New Years brought the Lan Sect. With Lan Xichen still in seclusion, the only reason they had even returned to the Cloud Recesses was so that Lan Wangji could help support him during this busy time.

Wei Wuxian was still getting used to living in the Jingshi fulltime. It was a little strange, having a soft, real bed to sleep on— let alone sharing it with someone, embracing him and being embraced in return. It was just as strange, having more robes and cloaks than he knew what to do with, and putting them up in a closet right next to the blue-white robes that he so loved sliding off of Lan Wangji’s body.

Strange, walking through the falling snow to open the doors of a warm, brightly lit home that he was slowly learning to know better than the back of his hand, and finding his husband sitting at his desk, writing something or the other.

Strange, having someone pause his work and get up, just because Wei Wuxian had arrived. Just so he could kiss Wei Wuxian welcome. Just so Wei Wuxian could drop himself into his arms and whine about being tired, just so he could carry Wei Wuxian to a warm bath where they would inevitably break another bathtub.

Strange, but good.

Less strange was the sheer number of times Wei Wuxian got laid each week. He had gotten used to it while he and Lan Wangji were still travelling the countryside, and he had even come to expect it.

But, unfortunately, even Wei Wuxian had his limits.

“You— You really want to kill your husband? Is that it Lan Zhan? Is this an attempted murder? Should I be running for the magistrate?”

Lan Wangji was all too dignified to do anything like rolling his eyes, but he looked like he direly wished to.

Wei Wuxian groaned from where he was splayed on the bed that night, completely spent. “Lan Zhan are you a nymph? Are you secretly a sex demon?” He asked his insatiable husband who still wanted to go again, “Are you feeding on my essence without even asking? How rude! Tell me Lan-er-gege, are you secretly a sex demon?”

“I am not secretly a sex demon.”

Unable to help his huff of laughter at that, Wei Wuxian turned his face to Lan Wangji.

Lan Wangji looked at him with his usual stately face. He seemed so serene and noble-looking in the light of the single candle as he knelt next to Wei Wuxian that, let alone detracting from it, his dishevelled loose hair and the single inner robe on his shoulders added to his regal beauty. Wei Wuxian wished he had the will or energy to go again, really he did. But he might actually even go to sleep at the Lan Sect curfew today, he was so spent.

“Lan Zhan, beloved husband of mine, are you cheating?” Wei Wuxian whined, rolling a little on the bed, “Are you using spiritual energy? Is that how you have such an enormous sex drive? You’re using your unfairly big and sexy golden core!”

“I am not,” Lan Wangji said.

“I so don’t believe you,” Wei Wuxian said, mostly for theatricality’s sake. Obviously he knew that Lan Wangji would never lie to him. “Next time I’m going to make you seal your spiritual powers, see if you’re really cheating or not!”

Lan Wangji looked away slowly, his ears shining red under his hair, and Wei Wuxian’s gaze slid down to his lap. “Huh, you really like that, Lan Zhan?” Wei Wuxian laughed, “Kinky. Sounds fun!”

Then, he flopped once again to his back on the sweat-soaked sheets. “But next time is tomorrow.”

“Everyday is everyday, Wei Ying,” Lan Zhan said sternly.

Wei Wuxian laughed incredulously. “This well beyond everyday! This is more like three to five times a day! The heart is willing but the flesh is weak, Lan-er-gege, won’t you have mercy on your poor husband? I’m not going to be able sit or stretch tomorrow! I’m noodle!”

Lan Wangji didn’t pout at that, exactly, but he didn’t not pout either. Fuck, he was adorable. With his loose, pooling hair and bare forehead and not-not pouting lips, he looked so soft he was practically edible.

Wei Wuxian was doomed. He was already feeling his weak flesh starting to strengthen to match the immense willingness of his heart.

He tried valiantly to keep up a pretence of grumpiness, but he wasn’t sure it didn’t look as flimsy as it felt. After all, it was a pretence that he only put up because he enjoyed having it shredded. An archery target telling people to shoot here, yes, bullseye, now again. Nobody had ever accused an archery target of not wanting to be shot.

“Anyways I can’t get it up anymore, so it’s moot!” Wei Wuxian said, harrumphing with his eyes closed, showing all the great confidence of someone who knew they were seconds away from being proven wrong.

There was a long, unexpected moment of silence.

Wei Wuxian peeked through one eye. Had Lan Wangji given up in the face of Wei Wuxian’s well-practiced dramatics? He blinked open both eyes, ready to throw aside the grumpy mask if necessary, because Lan Wangji giving up was very much not within the plans. The plans included less convincing Lan Wangji and more Lan Wangji snapping and jumping him, and Wei Wuxian was ready to adjust his approach if it became necessary.

But before Wei Wuxian could do anything, he felt the cold tips of a few long fingers touch his bare shoulder gently.

“Really,” Lan Wangji whispered, leaning over him with his hair trailing around them in a curtain of black, and he said in the sweetest tones of his native dialect:

“Are you really sure you can’t get it up, Wei-dada?”

Oh fuck.

Lan Wangji’s eyes slid very deliberately to Wei Wuxian’s naked belly, where there was something growing with a rather disconcerting speed.

“Hm,” Lan Wangji said, smugly.

Wei Wuxian felt something inside of himself snap with the sound of a violent explosion.

He lunged for Lan Wangji who succumbed willingly to Wei Wuxian’s push, and they tumbled back into the sheets with Wei Wuxian sitting on Lan Wangji’s lap, laughing delightedly— completely starstruck by his husband. Lan Wangji’s inner robe was spread underneath them in a silky white layer, just like his black hair, their bed a study of contrasts like the cold, falling snow outside and the warm shadows inside.

“Lan Wangji, you, you minx! You evil demon!” Wei Wuxian said, trying to sound scolding and failing majorly. “You know I’m weak for your dialect! Using my weakness against me so heinously, saying such shameless things to me! You’re so evil! How can you do this to me!” Then he paused, peering down at his husband. “Say something else.”

“What does Wei Ying wish for me to say?” Lan Wangji wondered in that same dialect, his words sounding inevitably soft and seductive to the Yunmeng-raised Wei Wuxian. Then, almost innocently, he dropped the most lethal of weapons; “I love you, husband.”

“Aaaaah! I’ll die Lan Zhan, my heart will burst if you talk like that!” Wei Wuxian wailed, “Why must you argue so strongly? You’re really unable to give up or lose aren’t you!”

“Wei Ying enjoys arguing about it,” Lan Wangji said matter-of-factly, looking up at him with pleased eyes.

“Oh, Wei Ying does, does he?” Wei Wuxian said, leaning over Lan Wangji to press one chaste kiss on him. Unfortunately though, he ended up laughing onto Lan Wangji’s lips and probably ruining the kiss, but he couldn’t stop himself. Lan Wangji’s sense of humour truly was an unearthed gem that only Wei Wuxian seemed to appreciate. “If Wei Ying enjoys arguing, then of course it is simply his husband’s marital duty to argue with him, is that so? Am I getting this right, Lan Zhan?”

“Mn.” Lan Wangji said, and when Wei Wuxian pulled away, he could see that Lan Wangji’s lips were twitching unstoppably into a smile. Wei Wuxian felt full just looking at him, as if just the vibrant look on Lan Wangji’s face could fuel him indefinitely.

“So beautiful. So handsome. The best,” Wei Wuxian said, punctuating each declaration with a kiss on that rapidly growing smile. “The best even if you always want to seduce your exhausted husband into never-ending sex. Always the best.”

“If Wei Ying is too tired, we should go to sleep,” Lan Wangji said in a deliberately casual voice, and there was something glittering in his eyes that surged open when Wei Wuxian burst into another fit of laughter.

“You’re ridiculous, so ridiculous!” Wei Wuxian giggled, “My amazing, most ridiculous husband Lan Zhan! Aah, I love you so much, so so much, if your sex mania doesn’t kill me first, my love for you will. I will just explode because my love grew too big and didn’t fit in me anymore one day, just wait and see!”

“Ridiculous,” Lan Wangji said with his smile still twitching. He hefted Wei Wuxian closer by the hips when Wei Wuxian leant forward and put his hands all over him, sliding them up and past Lan Wangji’s neck, cupping his face, sliding his fingers into that silky hair.

“No, no think about it!” Wei Wuxian said, grinning as he squished Lan Wangji’s face and kissed his nose in demonstration, “We’ll be in those boring sect dinners with your uncle and you will wrinkle your nose at a piece of spinach like you do, and it will be like— BAM! I will burst and nobody will know that it was because suddenly I loved you too much to contain! And then eventually the whole world will know how the terrible Yiling Patriarch was brought to his knees by the enormity of his love for one, perfect man!”

Finding his story funnier the more he told it, Wei Wuxian laughed; “Your uncle will go into qi deviation when he learns what happened, Lan Zhan, he’ll be so shocked! That’ll be my revenge for how many lines he made me copy last week, you know? He’ll have to live with the knowledge that his nephew was so loveable he made someone explode! Me!”

And then he heard it. Almost inaudible underneath the loudness of Wei Wuxian’s words, something beautiful and breathless and quieter than a whisper.

Lan Wangji was laughing.

There was an almost helpless expression on his face, like even he didn’t quite understand what was happening, but it was happening nonetheless. Lan Wangji’s lips were smiling and his eyes were pinched and bright yellow and he was laughing out loud; a sound lower than his usual speaking voice, clear like the spill of a spring, sweeter than any dialect or word. Wei Wuxian’s heart immediately expanded in size, five, ten times bigger, warm and sour and all-encompassing inside him.

“Yes,” He murmured, unable to stop himself from reaching to touch the corners of that smile, feeling the way Lan Wangji’s breath stuttered with every peal of laughter. “It’ll definitely be because I love you too much.”

“Impossible,” Lan Wangji said around the breathlessness of his laughing.

He was incandescent. He was brighter than anything else in the world, than the moon, than the sun. Wei Wuxian would kill ten thousand cultivators with a rusty sword if only it meant he would laugh like this every day. Wei Wuxian would burn the world for him.

“Aiy, Lan Zhan,” Wei Wuxian said, rubbing his thumb gently on one raised corner of Lan Wangji’s lips, “Let’s go again, come on. Let’s do it two, three more times, I’ve been resurrected! You’ve brought me back to life!”

And this time when Lan Wangji reached up to pull Wei Wuxian closer, Wei Wuxian went without another word, tasting another burst of that beautiful laughter in a kiss. It seemed that laughter couldn’t ruin kisses after all.

Who knew?
