Summary

Fuck. Such a good fucking fic, though I did heavily dislike everyone but Carlos. There was no bashing, there’s just something so disgusting and appalling to me about selfishness, avoidance of accountability, excuses, and cowardice made out of fear that you ultimately know you can overcome as it’s a blatant fact you have the power in the situation, that makes me sick. Just what gives them the right to walk back into Carlos’ life as they please, after not even going to look for his body or serve out justice on his behalf, when they thought the babe was dead based on rumors and no REAL evidence! How can they walk their sorry bitch asses up to him and make it about them “caring” about him, after hearing about the brutal duties he had to endure in order for survival, just because he was waiting on their selfish and pathetic little asses to save him, having faith in people who ultimately abandoned him! Makes me sick to my gut. The author perfectly captured Carlos’ mental state, and the dark fucking themes made me honest to god cry for Carlos. It’s truly awful in the most tragic and heartbreaking way I’ve ever seen in this fandom. Carlos suffered so much and I wish people understood and truly gripped at the process the core four, cruella, and the abusers (last two obvious) were the ones at fault; even in Carlos’ crazed state he found it in himself to not seek immediate and irrevocable revenge on the core four, which I would’ve not complained about by the way, it showed at least to me, how much of a heart Carlos still had despite the pain and suffering, showing off his strong, intelligent, and soft personality traits that make him who he is. Author did a fabulous job at writing, though I do want to push all of the core four and all the rapist into a ditch with poisonous snakes, everyone was great and I’m just massively projecting.
Note: this review sounds really really negative but I can assure, maybe the singular person who checks the bookmarks, this is a remarkable fan fiction to read, mind the triggers. I’m just PaSsiOnate about the subject, and the authors method of writing Carlos’ dialogue and mindset really spoke to me; it felt real and it was incredibly realistic making me defensive on Carlos’ behalf. Wonderful fanfic I must say!
