Summary
War has unsettled the sects, and Gusu Lan, known for its courtesans, has always acted as arbiter. Lan Zhan has a week left of relative freedom before he is forced to choose the sect leader for whom he will be a courtesan. With Lan Xichen long taken by Nie Mingjue, Lan Zhan’s choice will prove crucial for future peace talks. During a visit to Qinghe, Xichen tells him of a new sect leader, Wei Wuxian, who intrigues him; will he send Lan Zhan a courting gift, or will Lan Zhan be forced into a cruel alternative?
