Summary
Xehanort had assumed that once Ventus and Vanitas merged, Vanitas would wake up in charge and ready for the next stage of their plan.
Maybe he should have doubled-checked that assumption was correct before the first stage went ahead.
(AU Where Ven-Vanitas turns out to be a darker and much more selfish Ven, and the universe still ends up needing Sora to save it.)

This fic starts with me felt like wanting to punch those two certain people but ends with me wanting to cry when thinking deeply about how this fic ends.

Bad, boring, Xion and namine don't exist, Marluxia and Larxene and Luxord don't either, no khux lore, barely any interaction between Sora and Ventus, or between any of the characters besides the wayfinder trio and Aqua/Lea/Roxas, the story is boring because not a lot happens despite going through 4-5 games, we don't see anything on sora's side, the few scene with Sora and Ventus are the only good part of the fic along with Ventus meeting Terranort before the heart experiments,
once the heart experiment with Terranort and Ansem the wise starts, the fic becomes meh
Terra kills Ventus in the end so the fic was a massive waste of time, sorry Ven, but your friends don't care about you, I guess the message of this fic is that people only care about the perfect image they make in their heads, Ventus just isn't allowed to be like everyone else and have darkness in his heart
I'm just disappointed that despite the summary changing a big plot point with having Ventus around being able to do things, nothing happened and nothing changed (between bbs, kh1, days being cutdown, kh2 being cutdown as well, and com didn't happen)
Focus a lot on Aqua, but she was written flatter than a sheet of toilet paper, there's not a lot going for her and it shows since the fic keeps focusing on her
On the other side, Sora has 3 scenes and he's easily better written than Aqua, he has a lot more going on than her
A bit sad that Riku is reduced to "enemy -> bad", and Kairi seemed to have something interesting going on but the fic doesn't care about her so she keeps getting shoved into the back ground, Roxas was forgotten too, and so was Mickey in the end
