Summary
Todd Brotzman is a cynical, world-weary private investigator, and this may be the weirdest case he's ever found himself on. He's not sure whether the presence of a "holistic detective" will help or hinder matters. In fact, he's not really sure of a lot of things anymore.

too tired to write much but really lovely!! two moments i liked a lot:
Todd stands up and stretches his arms over his head, walking over to the window. When he glances back at Dirk, he's watching him, his eyes stuck somewhere around Todd's hips. Todd raises his eyebrows and Dirk looks away, flushing.
Oh, Todd thinks stupidly.

Todd nods good morning, and ducks his head to hide his smile at Dirk's morning hair. God, how did he let this blindside him so completely?"Have you been up for long?" Dirk asks around a yawn, returning and sitting next to him. Todd looks at him and hesitates, then tells himself not to be such a goddamn wuss, then hesitates some more, his gaze stuck somewhere around Dirk's left ear.
"Todd?" Dirk asks. He sounds concerned.
Todd darts forward and kisses him, quickly. He looks back down at his phone, heart racing.
"No," he says, "I haven't been up for long."
"Oh," Dirk says, voice high-pitched. Todd can see his face turning red out of the corner of his eye. "Well. Good. What, erm. What have you been doing?"

this author writes them soooo well they're so them, they're so in character i LOVE the cases, it's wonderfulllll
