He's asking as if he has a right to know. As if he wasn't the one who ran off into a girl's car, the one who'd been 'too busy' to even look your way, because evidently, whoever was on the other side of his phone screen was significantly more important.
Something about the way he asks you where you were when he hadn't even made time for you breaks the little self control you possessed to hold back.
"Well, where were you? In some other girl's car? Or maybe in her bed too, huh?"
He freezes, his eyes going wide and his mouth parted with the beginning of a rebuttal.
"What are you-"
You don't allow him to finish or defend his case. You don't know why you even brought that up, because you can't even stand the thought of him with another woman. You stand up and walk out, because you need to get out of there. You can feel flowers climbing up your throat, you feel sick, and it doesn't help that tears are blurring your vision.
You love Caleb, and you develop hanahaki.
