Sylvain is supposed to deliver a eulogy at his father’s funeral but nothing comes to mind. What the fuck is he supposed to say? He hates that he's freaking out about this.
He could lie and say his father was a warm, compassionate man, or that he’ll cherish all the good times they spent together.
Ha, seriously? As Sylvain wracks his brain for a pleasant memory of his late father, he realizes it's all in vain. Lost memories begin to surface from the depths of his psyche—none of them are pleasant. What good times?

Summary
[Sylvain] didn’t really flirt with Dimitri or Ingrid throughout their adolescence. Felix was his main focus within the group. At the time, Felix believed that Sylvain's brief flings with girls were a sign that things between them were different. Special. Clearly, Felix was mistaken to have ever taken anything Sylvain said seriously.
Ingrid was constantly overwhelmed by Sylvain’s trail of scorned lovers, then again, she and Dimitri had always been far more concerned with social etiquette. Plus, Ingrid is a hard ass in most respects. What does someone as tightly strung as her see in a bum like Sylvain?
Felix feels like a fool. Is he truly that naive? Should he have expected this, even after Ingrid’s college girlfriends? It’s not as if Sylvain and Ingrid made a death pact as kids. At least, not one he ever knew about.

“Please, Felix.” Sylvain stares at Felix who won’t return his gaze. “Can I…?”
“I don’t see what good it would do.” He can feel Sylvain’s brown puppy eyes boring holes into the side of his head.
Sylvain touches Felix’s hand but only for a second. “It would make me feel better… and I think you’d like it too.”
Felix snaps back, finally locking eyes with Sylvain, “You know this won’t change anything right?”
Sylvain whimpers as he presses next to Felix. “I know…”

Summary
“One day, you’ll snap.” To be fair, Jeritza never ‘snapped’. Murdering his birth father and so-called siblings was a calculated decision taken to protect Mercedes and their mother. His rage and blood lust steadily increased leading up to that fated day though. The abuse and cruelty suffered at the hands of that man’s children and the man himself slowly gave life to the Death Knight.
Sylvain pretends not to have heard anything and continues scrubbing at his already clean skin. Images of the dead bandits and blood flood his vision. He's filthy.
