Summary
Some part of Tav had hoped, however foolishly, that her beauty would be paltry to an incubus. Hoped that it would take no pleasure in mimicking her form, not when it had so many others at its disposal.
How wrong she had been. The incubus seemed to take to its new body like a child to a shiny new toy. The touches had been testing until now, never dwelling long or straying far, as if the incubus was committing the very shape of her to memory.
Tav had not told anyone. Not even Astarion, despite having what Tav would hesitantly call “intimate relations” with the man. Frequent bloodletting and passionate trysts were not the kinds of activities she indulged in with the rest of her traveling party. Tav looked to him now, his bed not far from her own.
The phantom hands began to roam, more freely than they ever had before. Dragging slowly up and down her sides, sending shivers across the surface of her skin.
Somehow Tav knew. Knew this time would be different.
