Lucretia tears a page out of her notebook.
It feels like a desecration, but leaving it in would be worse. These are official mission logs, after all, and she can’t very well have all the higher-ups reading sentences like she’s ethereal, like a blessing from on high, a gift from the gods, and she knows it; she walks with such confidence, talks with a conviction in herself that’s undeniable and infectious -
She’d written all that out, and only after she’d looked back at it had she realised, oh, uh-oh, that’s not something a straight person would say.

Summary
When she was sure Lucretia was distracted, she let her eyes slip away from the stars. She watched Lucretia’s face, trying to memorize her features, drinking her in like she, too, would be destroyed by the Hunger when it arrived.
Lucretia leaned against Merle’s picket fence and stared up at the sky. The moonlight reflected off of her skin, casting her as a luminous angel against the backdrop of celestial bodies. Lup wished, suddenly and fervently, that tomorrow would never come.

Summary
Some things on the Starblaster were, out of necessity or convenience, considered common property and some were considered off limits.
Food was common property, unless Taako was currently cooking, in which case the entire kitchen was a danger zone and even dipping a toe in could get you yelled at. Tools were common property, with no exceptions, not even Merle’s pruning shears, despite Merle insisting otherwise.
No one could agree which category clothing fell into.

Summary
The throat clearing had soon escalated to frequent but dry coughing, which had then doubled down in the form of the phlegm-riddled respiratory situation that Lucretia seems to be facing now. “Now” being crew breakfast, a modest spread cooked up by Lup and Taako, which is going criminally underappreciated by everyone present (Lup, admittedly, included) because Lucretia is doubled over in what appears to be an attempt to expel at least one of her lungs from her body.
