Summary
When Katara makes her own move to undress Aang, panic floods through him with just as much speed as arousal. Standing here with Katara practically naked, pressed close to his own barely clothed body, he finds himself frightfully flaccid. He can't make sense of it. After a full evening of stolen kisses and glances, he'd expected to be flagging maybe, but it's so unlike him to not have any stirring whatsoever down there.
He feels embarrassed and ashamed as Katara, blissfully unaware of the war waging in her boyfriend's mind, tries everything she can to get him aroused with no luck. Mentally, he's there, practically drooling over Katara in her matching lacy lingerie, but his body doesn't seem too keen on reacting as it should.
After these thirty minutes of impassioned kissing and touching and grinding, he thinks something may be deeply wrong with him. It's the only logical explanation for this sudden short coming.

Summary
“It’s really good to meet you.” Aang said, offering a small, easy smile.
Katara’s answering smile was slower, a little more assessing. “You too. Sokka talks about you like you hung the moon.”
“I only do that on Tuesdays.” Aang replied, and the corner of her mouth curved higher. At some point, they found themselves in the small bathroom, and somewhere along the way, the door clicked softly shut behind them.
Or, Aang and Katara meeting for the first time and immediately deciding that personal space is a temporary concept.

Summary
Aang is sixteen when Katara looks up from a half-built wall and cannot make the boy she has known for four years fit the young man in front of her.
What follows takes nearly three years: a winter of letters and rooms that learn to feel empty, a grandmother who puts a pouch of dried leaves on the floor between them, a stable at the South Pole where two people try to work out how to grow up without the ones who should have shown them, and the slow business of finding words for something their bodies reached first.
Set in the early Republic City years, before Air Temple Island and before the wedding. A prequel to The Ones We Carry.
Written for Kataang Week 2026, Day 4: Growing Together.
