Summary
Penelope is spending the summer with Eloise at Aubrey Hall while giving Colin the cut direct as he is off on his tour.
Colin returns home early on the night of a soirée and finds his dearest friend, Penelope, dancing with a suitor (or six) and he quickly finds he hates it with a fiery passion that he did not know he possessed.
Simply to stay close to her, he, rather unwillingly, agrees to give her lessons of sorts to ensnare her new beau but they backfire when Colin quickly comes to realize that Penelope has captured his heart instead.

Summary
Colin Bridgerton woke up thinking nothing had changed, only to be hit with a jarring reality: he had suffered a horse accident and just emerged from a two-week coma. The last thing he remembers was him traveling home from Greece, but now he's faced with an even more bewildering twist—his dearest friend, Penelope Featherington, is married to his brother, Benedict Bridgerton. Struggling to accept this startling revelation, Colin’s confusion deepens as inappropriate dreams about Penelope starts to haunt his sleep.

Summary
“Have you done it more than once?”
“Yes.”
Colin’s mouth felt dry as the desert. He licked his lips and asked, “With different partners?”
“Yes.”
Colin swallowed. “Does it hurt?”
Her face was briefly illuminated by the city lights as the car moved through the quiet streets, and one corner of her mouth turned slightly upwards. Her eyes seemed to gleam in the darkness. “A little, it always does in the beginning but it’s a good hurt if you’re doing it right.”
