Eddie knew that Buck had gotten invitations.
Chimney told him that the Buckley-Han’s had invited him. You don’t have to be alone. The Wilsons did too. Come to ours, Buckaroo, we’ll keep it chill. Even Athena had invited him. Let’s not do Christmas together.
He declined all of them.
Eddie had invited him too. Come to ours for Christmas. It’s just me, Chris, Pepa and Abuela. We miss you.
“I think I’m gonna stay at home.” Buck said. “I don’t feel the holiday spirit this year. I wouldn’t be good company.”
“Okay, Buck. You wouldn’t need to keep us company, though. You just being there would be enough.” He said, waiting for the other man to speak. “If you need anything—”
“I’m fine,” he said. “Thanks.”
