Accepting yourself is a slow process. It will take Peter a long time before he can acclimate to his newfound freakiness. At home he builds his control and explores the boundaries of these new powers. But until then, he relies on the inhibitor as a necessary restraint while patrolling.
That is, until the inhibitor breaks in the worst possible way - pumping arachnoid hormones into Peter's blood and changing him into something else. Suddenly, the city’s familiar friendly neighborhood spiderman loses his soft edges and down-to-earth charm as friend, foe and civilians are left to pick up the disintegrating pieces of puzzle they called Spiderman that thought they knew.
But, extra funkiness aside, New York adores their resident superhero even when he seems to be going through some weird (and they mean WEIRD) spider puberty.

The hairs on the back of Peters neck shot up, a feeling of unease crawling up his neck. He frowned. His senses were on full alert, feeling the air stiffen and his eye zone into the darkness of the hallway infront of them.
His spidey sense lit up. Danger. Move. Now. Something is coming.
His arachnid side made time go agonizingly slow: hearing his slow breathes, the heartbeat next to him, the shuffle of the sheets, before a slow click buzzed through the noise.
He heard it before he could see it. Something zipping through the air.
It couldnt have been more then half a second before his instincts kicked in.

When one such scientific Viltrumite lands on Earth, Vigil is there for more than just its scientific studies, but the reason as to why events took such a turn. Why Nolan had departed so suddenly after a thousand years of service, the contradictions of Mark Grayson and why Earth was proving to be so anomalous to all other planets in the Viltrum Empire.
He was there to study it before Thragg undoubtedly ordered someone to burn it all away. Yet, in his observation of Mark Grayson, he was no longer sure it would be Thragg first.

Amber’s incredulous look is only brief before she reaches over and grabs the book, opening it to the last page that she was reading. Mark’s eyes are fluttering before she even makes it through the first page; his body goes slack against her, breathing lulls, attention wavers. But she keeps reading the words on the pages, brushing her hand through his hair until she hears soft snores whistling through his nostrils and he finally succumbs to his exhaustion.
