“Do you want a real challenge?” Deadlock’s tone sounded awfully grave, it always did. Hold so somber, holding back pain usually, but this intensity was only slightly different. No pain in sight, rather fixation. As her fingers dug deeper into Jett’s abdomen, relishing in the way they sunk into her flesh, protected by the fabric of her shirt. She could feel the heat on the tips of her nails, clutching it, like an animal sinking its claws into its prey’s underbelly.
