“You should join us.” Ava takes a single step back and winks at her - Beatrice, in turn, pitches forward.
It’s cold. Too cold for skinny dipping.
But the woman has Ava’s face and Ava’s voice and Ava’s body and Beatrice would’ve followed her to hell and back - has yet to forgive herself for not stepping through the portal after her.

“Beatrice, I have a new assignment for you.” Her supervisor said in front of the other agents. “Are you familiar with Dr. Jillian Salvius and Arq-Tech?”
“They are the engineers behind AI technology, right?” she asked even when she knew the answer.
“They are.” Her supervisor said and showed everyone a picture of a young woman. The young woman had long brunette hair, with golden specks in it, like she spent hours under the sun. She had thin features, a strong jaw with a fine nose and a soft blush on her cheeks. What Beatrice notice immediately was the woman´s eyes: almond colored and expressive, like her whole soul spoke through her eyes. “This is Ava Silva. She´s somewhat of a daughter to Dr. Salvius and the brain behind the new technology that Arq-Tech is about to launch. She is also the only human who is actively wearing a halo, a nanotech device clinched to her back that allowed her go from being a quadriplegic, to having full mobility. She is also the number one person in the Most Wanted List for human traffickers and other companies that are willing to do whatever it takes to get their hands on her technology. She is your new assignment.”
