Summary
He hadn’t told Robert he was moving away. He’d done his best to leave an imprint and left without saying goodbye.
“You alright?” Robert asked softly, and it was almost like no time had passed.
And Aaron couldn’t do it. Couldn’t stand there and pretend it didn’t make his chest hurt. Not when Robert would walk right back out and sit with his wife and her family, not when Aaron had no part to play in his life, never did.
When Gordon dies, Aaron and Liv are forced to return to the village for the funeral. Back inside Robert's orbit, Aaron tries to regain his footing, but the past is never far away, doing its best to trip him up.
