Summary
Okay, Jonathan had read novels with situations like this before, but he didn't expect it to happen to him and a certain Medjai. Hours earlier, they and the O'connells were fleeing from mummies when it started to rain. However, it was a light and seemingly fleeting rain. The four fought, and after many screams and desperate runs, they got rid of the mummies and began to organize themselves to leave.
Evelyn and Rick had a toddler, Alex, so they had already gone home when the rain began to intensify, and Jonathan cursed himself for refusing their ride. The truth is, he wanted to spend more time talking to Ardeth. But now he was soaked, and Ardeth was getting wet too, since Bay was so busy interacting with him that he hadn't noticed the warning signs of a storm.

A chill ran through Ardeth as he remembered one particular fight. Something about a missing purse. Of course, Ardeth tried to calm things down and said calmly, "There's no need for violence." That was a grave mistake, because soon after, Ardeth found himself running for his life. He managed to survive thanks to his mother, who simply appeared and gave them that particular look that would make even Scorpion King cry, and then the Bay house returned to normal.

Evelyn raised her head with a curious look. "Yes... And I remember you protecting Ardeth in Ahm Shere while I protected Rick." She stood up and went to her brother. "I think the four of us were destined to meet, right? Rick had the key with the map of Hamunaptra, and you stole it and gave it to me... and I always dreamed of going there. And then we met Ardeth there."
