Slade leans forward in his chair as the kid walked in.
No helmet or mask on, at least. He’d had to take it off to come in — no masks here. Not if he wanted to make a deal.
But he’s still wearing his suit. A high collar, a jacket over top. Gloves, heavy boots.
Too much. Too many places for trackers to hide.
“Take the rest off.” Slade says.

Slade initially trains Jason as a favor to Talia and because he’s excited to take a lethal bat under his wing. But it was just supposed to be training. Three months and then they’d part ways, with no future plans to see each other again.
That doesn’t explain why he’s in Gotham, with not even a job as an excuse for being there.

She has to say something, and it can’t be something stupid like I was never really a kid or Nightwing would probably love to have you as a brother if you asked. So instead she opens her mouth, and “I don’t think I want to be Superboy anymore,” is what falls out.
