Summary

He misses her voice. Lisa’s constant chattering had been so endearing. But he knows first hand…she’d say something if she could. So now it’s his turn to fill the silence.
He’s not as naturally talkative as she is, and the 1980s were still so much different than the 1880s he knew, so he sticks with what he knows.
He tells her stories about his first life.
He reads poetry to her.
He assures her, and reassures her, and reassures her again that he loves her, that he’ll always love her, that he’s so thankful they’ve been given this second life together.

There were no signs of withdrawal or the itch for drink that he’d become so familiar with in his previous life. Wynonna had a light and airiness to her that almost made all of her movements seem weightless despite her ever-present lack of grace. He can’t remember a time ever seeing her like this when she wasn’t at least half in the bag. But when he comes out from the rest stop with his newly acquired soda and she suggests Miracles, Montana, her smile is brighter than anything he’s ever seen on any Earp, and he knows they’ve finally made it.
