Sighing, Dan Heng looked up and made eye contact with the menaces themselves, standing a few feet away by a wall and waving at him with matching shit-eating grins on their faces. Though a part of him was happy to see them so happy, the other, more rational side to him thought to himself that he really needed to learn how to refuse them.
After all, Dan Heng’s inability to say no to his friends led him to where he was now: standing in line amidst a gaggle of excited fans, all waiting for a chance to interact with one of the official cosplayers hired by Astral Hunters Games.

Dan Heng whimpered, Blade’s skin a cooling balm against his own overheated neck. “Why isn’t there any scent?”
Confusion bled into the arousal taking over Dan Heng’s mind. What did Blade mean? Dan Heng could smell Blade perfectly: a tantalizing mix of pepper and warm spices, with undertones of patchouli and sandalwood and something so distinctly Blade that it made Dan Heng think, mine.

A mermaid scale. Consuming one single mermaid scale is said to have the power to heal any ailment, whether one is at death’s door from a boiling fever or severed limbs.
When he was young, Yingxing listened to the stories of mermaids with rapt attention, wondering just how creatures who were known to drag sailors overboard could have such a fantastical ability. As he grew older, those tales fell to the wayside. And with no one in the village having seen a mermaid for themselves and only the elders claiming to know anything of the creatures, Yingxing firmly believes that such stories serve only to entice the foolish to swim to their deaths.

Soonyoung plants both of his hands on Chan’s thighs, his pinkie getting a bit too far up to be casual, and leans over to get in Jeonghan’s face. “Technically, you could engage in sexual relations with a coworker on a company outing, as long as they’re not your direct supervisor— but I’d expect you to report your relationship to HR on Monday.”
