Summary
Adrian is a communications officer aboard the research station Icarus, which she has grown to despise. She has a foolproof plan to escape, contact the Affini.
This work differs from the main HDG setting in the following ways:
Affini arrive in 2035 or around there (The Accord was formed in 2026 right after the collapse of the united states), and Humanity has a greatly reduced ability to resist them. Earth is taken over almost immediately and the bulk of the "war" is spent rounding up the remaining feralists.
The Affini just make everyone biologically immortal, no issue.

Summary
Phalynx-332 spent her entire life as a weapon. Augmented, trained, and shaped into a killing machine, violence is all Phalynx has ever known. She spent her time either fighting for the OCNI or stuck on a shelf, waiting for the next assignment. And then a princess came along in need of saving. After rescuing a floret from certain death, Phalynx finds herself transplanted into the Affini Compact. The only problem? She's still a weapon, an OCNI monster made to kill and murder.
Thankfully, the Affini are actually quite okay with that. To keep Special Assets like Phalynx-332 happy, the Affini built a coliseum, a place where sophonts can tear each other apart, safely and consensually, all while under the watchful vines of the Affini themselves. If Phalynx performs well enough, she may even catch the eye of her favorite princess. Now if only the ferals would stop trying to enlist her in their escape attempts...
