Ted stands up, grinning. “Welcome back, Ms. Barrymore! Now, I’ve explained the situation to the team; everyone’s been told to give you your space and not to talk to you too much. So. . .not that different from normal, really. We’ve got Bournemouth Saturday, so we’ll be getting ready for that today. Figured you could hang back a little, get used to the new strategy we’re running. Well, new to you, anyway. If you need anything or need to take a break, just holler.” He looks down at Beard. “I miss anything?”
Beard just looks at him placidly and says “don’t Google yourself.”
Or: Roy wakes up three years in the future. His life isn't half bad, with one very noticable exception.

Summary
The one where Roy and Jaime are stepbrothers.
“Oi, listen up, cuz I’m only going to say this once.” Silence fell over the room and all heads turned to Roy. His index finger pointing towards the players to emphasize the seriousness. “Anyone who talks about this ever again gets headbutted. If this winds up in the Sun tomorrow and I find out who talked, I will cut off your balls, roast them with a nice glaze and then feed them back to you. Got it.” There were nervous nods of agreement.
“My dad married Tartt’s mom. I hate the prick,” Roy pointed at Jamie who gave the lads a jaunty wave, “but they are happy together so we tolerate each other.”Too bad no one remembered to tell Ted…

Summary
Having narrowly escaped relegation, AFC Richmond dreams of rising to the very top, Jamie and Roy struggle to navigate their new secret relationship, and Jamie’s dad threatens to destroy their fragile happiness. Jamie has to learn the hard way that he’s not alone anymore, and needs to find the strength and courage to ask for help.

“He’s my dad,” Jamie says weakly, trying to explain what he knows is irrational behavior. He knows he doesn’t owe his dad anything, not his time or money or respect. “It’s easier this way.”
Roy slowly wraps his arms around Jamie from behind, pulling him back against the warmth of his chest. Jamie rests limply there, letting Roy take some of his weight. “I don’t fucking understand, Jamie.”
Jamie nods miserably. “I know. But he’ll leave me alone for a while now.”
Roy sighs heavily, his breath warming the side of Jamie’s neck. “What would he have done, if I wasn’t here?” he asks, clearly choosing his words carefully.
Jamie shrugs again. He wraps his hands around Roy’s arms, keeping him there. Roy leans his head against Jamie’s, holding him tight.

Summary
Jamie Tartt is hard of hearing due to a few too many knocks to the head when he was growing up. He doesn’t realize this until coming back to Richmond after LCA, where he doesn’t just have to navigate becoming a better person, but accepting that needing accommodations isn’t soft. This journey follows from childhood, then all through canon up until the end of season 3.
