the one thing that remained of his father (phil, his mind whispered. he silenced it) was a photo, one dream never let out of his sight. well, no, his father wasn't dead, per se, but he had been absent for 16 years, and was currently pretending that dream was in no way related.
and he had four other kids.
great.it stung, if he was honest, seeing phil parent the other four kids perfectly, leaving him behind. he was like a sacrifice, thrown away far too early (five years old, at a train station, alone oh god so alone alone alone al-) for others to experience the happiness he never got.
