Summary
“What are we playing for? Money? Pride?” Hawkeye toyed with a pawn, running his thumb over the smooth marble head. “Pawn to c3.”
“Let's play for a favor.”
That gave him pause, because BJ had a psyche more labyrinthine than the New York City sewer system, and Hawkeye had wound up on the receiving end of it on more than one unfortunate occasion—enough to make him cautious about nebulous wagers.
“What kind of favor?”
“Any kind. One ask, one ‘yes.’”
#
In the months after the end of the war, Hawkeye and BJ begin a game of phone-based correspondence chess. The stakes are simple: whoever wins earns a favor from the other. Hawkeye is willing to take those odds. After all, it's not like BJ would come to Maine to collect, right?

First of all, this is Wally's fault, alright? Let's get one thing straight, if not for Wallace Rudolph West, Kyle wouldn't be in this situation.
....
He's still waiting on that 'thank you.'OR,
Kyle goes on a bad blind date, and finds (more than one) happy ending anyways.

Fucking jocks.
They’ve always been a pain in the ass but at least it’s not the same anymore as it was back in high school. Because now that he’s finally made it to college, Eddie has found a better way to deal with them than getting into useless fights he won’t win 90% of the times.
Now, he is taking it literal – fucking jocks.

Summary
"Bad night?" Eddie asks. Still not looking at him.
"No," Steve says. Then: "I don't know. I just wanted-" He stops.
Eddie's fingers move over the strings. A chord, soft. Start of a song, or just a sound?
I just wanted to be here, this is what he didn't say. He thinks Eddie knows. He thinks Eddie has known for a while now, believes it because Steve has known, too - quietly, then loud as fuck, just like he might have realized the door has been open the whole time Steve has been standing in the cold, convincing himself that he wasn’t allowed through it.
"You can just say that," Eddie says. Quiet. His voice has the old cadence that it drops to sometimes, low and no snark, stripped of the theatre he wears like armour in every other setting. Steve has learned to pay attention when that happens. "You don't need to have a reason."
Steve looks at the side of Eddie's face. The candlelight is doing something unholy to his jaw, the line of his throat, the way his hair falls forward when he's bent over the guitar.
"I know."
