Summary
Damon wasn’t particularly fond of the roommates idea to begin with, let alone being forced into the pink monstrosity originally assigned to Kai Monteago, but he was slowly getting used to it. As best as he could get used to sharing a room with the ‘Ultimate Influencer’ in some sort of fucked up mansion where they were expected to kill each other.
But the two of them have it figured out- mostly. Knock if the door is closed, leave when the other person is changing, and don't hog the blanket.
Until Damon forgets to knock one day.

His house is an aging, deep-maroon ranch off a country road where cars pass through the night. The pines swallow everything at this hour, sharp-smelling and unmovable.
He listens. Nothing. No car or motorcycle.
Fine. He’ll show up when he wants.

Summary
It's almost pathetic, this facsimile of wholesome family values that House has created in his mind. That he can’t help but crave, so long as it’s Wilson who was his pretty little house-wife. House would even take him zonked out on Quaaludes if it meant having this but more.
Still, this is not the first time this story has been told. There are no ways else to tell it except to tell it: House will carry this secret to his grave.
