how have i not bookmarked this earlier?? this fic changed lives dude. the difficulty that comes with being gay and just wanting to be accepted by thr people who raised you is just. the choice to surround yourself with the people who understand and love unconditionally. the story of two different people and how the journey of being queer isn't the same from person to person. 10/10

literacy. being inherently literate. the best character studies with crazy depth. both of them were written so well with their own internal struggles being ironically similar. i love this. it feels bone deep in the way everything js written. 9.8/10 -

not used to huckleabbot but man did i dig this. literate author is perfect, depth! maturity! media literacy! character study! perfect. jack abbot is a complicated man. dennis whitaker is a smart man. perfect duo? i think yes. i love the touch of night terrors, it's something i love seeing in fics only when done right. 9/10 -

Robby’s gaze roamed across Dennis's face, tracing the planes and sharp angles of his features like he was trying to commit them to memory. He already had a long time ago. The horrible, aching knot in his chest dedicated to Dennis was a piece of Robby that he tried, time and time again, to rip out. Always to no avail.

"Marry me," Robby said.
