Summary
Wednesday’s touch was so light she couldn't help but look down for just a split second, almost unsure it was happening.
“You’re…warm,” Wednesday commented.
At that, Enid felt her face flush, tilting her head even further, like maybe she could make out how many tiny stems were on each tree if she tried hard enough.
“Are you always?”
“Hm?” Enid tore her eyes from the trees, landing directly on Wednesday as if there were no other destination for her eyes.
“Warm. You’re always this way?”
Enid let out a small laugh, shrugging her shoulders. She felt warmer than usual. In fact, she wasn't sure she ever felt this warm in her twenty-one years.
She didn't say that, though.
Instead, “I guess so.”

Summary
The silence stretched enough to make the moment mean something.
“You can do better.” The words released before Wednesday had enough sense to stop herself.
Enid turned towards her, her arms tightening around herself. “Better…how?”
With me. Only me. Always with me.
Or,
A chasm carves its way between two best friends when there’s one who's always been in love, and the other only knows how to settle.

Summary
Wednesday didn't shift her gaze. She only had two things on her mind at the moment.
One, she was still awkwardly standing in the middle of the doorway with beer on her shirt, and she still really didn't want to be here.
Two, the girl was still standing in front of her, and her name was Enid; her cheeks were flushed, and the tips of her hair were pink and blue.Or,
The one where Enid's the cheer captain and Wednesday is a loser with a crush.

Summary
“Well, if you're the scariest thing out there, then what does that make me?” Enid said, suddenly feeling dejected just as she had earlier.
She didn't mean it to sound so desperate and pleading, but either way, it definitely did because she was already cursing herself for saying anything. Judging by the way Wednesday sat there, unyielding, waiting, but focused, she wanted her to explain herself, and Enid wasn't even sure she could stop if she started.
“Just Enid,” Wednesday supplied.
Simple but effective. Enid let her tension ease slightly from her shoulders and slightly relaxed into their conversation, lips turned upward just slightly, enough to let Wednesday know that even though it was two words, thank you.
“You don't think I can be scary?”
Wednesday, eyes scintillating just as before, “Terrifying.”
