Summary
The young woman groaned, her voice thick with blood residue. She leaned to the side and spat it out.
Hawkeye was frozen in place and barely twitched when the "civilian's" eyes fell on him.
"Oh," she said. "You're still here." She looked around awkwardly. "Didn't anyone come pick you up?"
"They're on their way," he answered, his voice shaking towards the end, because this girl was NOT chatting with him when her arterial spray is still sticky on Clint's face.
There was a silent beat. They exchanged a look.
"Well," she said, getting up casually and dusting herself off, even though her clothes were soaked with her blood, and both the front and the back of her shirt had huge gaping holes in them. "I should probably get going."
"You're alive," Hawkeye said dumbly.
"Um, yeah," she said like it's the most obvious thing imaginable.
"You got shot."
"It wasn't that bad."
"Through your heart."
"I can explain?"
