Summary
Someone can only pretend to be perfect for so long without burning out.
Lucy's burnout hit in the holidays before her final year of college, when her father tried to rope her into a post-grad job at Vault-Tec. Her refuge from Hank's desperate attempts to get her to network and endless parties quickly became a tucked-away lounge in the Howard residence.
Meanwhile, Cooper, instead of attempting to save the world upon finding out that his wife intended to end it, was watching his marriage collapse. Lucy just happened to be in the room to see it too.
Or a pre-war fallout AU where the two begin an affair while desperately trying to figure out their messy lives.

Summary
When a marriage law is passed, Lucius Malfoy is relieved to hear that he won't have to take another wife for himself, enjoying his quiet divorced life. That is until he ends up stuck with Hermione Granger in his home anway as she is forced into a marriage with the forever absent Draco.
Basically a twist on the marriage law trope where Hermione is forced to marry Draco but falls for his dad instead.
