In his office in heaven, Aziraphale reflects on sleep, and on why this angel, at least, doesn't.
---Aziraphale doesn’t sleep. He never has. Angels don’t need sleep.
That’s what he always told himself, anyway. It’s what he told Crowley, when he asked, sprawled over the sofa in the bookshop like he belonged. Because, of course, he did.
But here, in the vast stillness of heaven, where the light is too bright, and the silence presses in, he feels something that could almost be exhaustion. Or maybe it’s something else - something older, something hollow.
