Summary
Colin Bridgerton is a wanderer — always somewhere new, always charming his way through life without much reason to settle down. Among the people he keeps coming back to is Penelope Featherington, an old friend who has built exactly the quiet, grounded life he never wanted for himself. When a car accident puts Penelope's life in danger, something shifts in Colin that he can't shake. For the first time, he has to reckon with what she actually means to him — but Penelope has spent years making peace with who Colin is, and she's not waiting around. He has a lot to prove, and no guarantee she'll let him.

💜 STORY COMPLETE 💜
************************************
Colin and Penelope had an unlikely friendship with a side of purely inquisitive, deeply scientific fascination. On Penelope's part anyway. It was just an infatuation. Because of course she hadn't fallen in love with him when she was eleven, or fifteen, or twenty-five.
That would be ridiculous.
They were just friends. That's how friends behave.
Right?
But what if the fabric of their being was tied to the other? And even after the first fracture they both held on? What if it all came down to timing?
OR:
Penelope thinks this is the closest she'll ever get to him.
Colin thinks this is the closest she'll ever let him get.

Summary
Penelope eyes the hallway, considering making a break for it. For no coherent reason, she knows his gaze follows hers. She makes an excuse to Francesca, dropping her empty glass and heading to find the toilet. When she makes it to the end of the hallway, alone, she hesitates. And then she feels his hand wrapped around her wrist, pulling her behind the nearest door, and every ounce of uncertainty melts away from her.
Colin's lips find her neck from behind as his hand trails down the front of her body. She grips the counter on either side of the sink, eyeing herself in the mirror. No words are exchanged. He looks up and catches her eye as his fingers dip below her knickers and swipe across her clit. It’s immediate ecstasy.
A drug.
An addiction.

Summary
As illogical as it is, the whole thing is Justin Timberlake’s fault.
Wherein these two idiots watch the movie Friends with Benefits, discuss the merits (and lack thereof) of such a thing, and then decide, like the dummies they are, to maybe, possibly... give it a go?
It goes about as well as one could expect.

Summary
Penelope released a breath. "Then just tell me what it is, Colin. Please."
"It's...embarrassing."
Penelope waited.
Colin groaned. "I'm getting my arse waxed, alright?"
For a moment, Penelope remained silent. She stared at Colin, trying to process this new piece of information she just learned about him.
"What?" she finally stuttered out. "But why?"
