Summary
Inns in Hardorn border towns are neutral grounds, so long as the Sunsguard don't see the Herald and the Valdemarans don't see the priests. Usually this works fine, but one evening found Valdemarans with a Herald and Sunsguard with a priest at the same inn. Two groups of guards signal their outliers, and their outliers reluctantly retreat to the stables for a frigid night.
Turns out, it's too cold to kill ancient enemies. Much easier to swap drinks and tales under a night-long truce, figuring nothing will change in the morning.
And it doesn't. Not yet. But, it just might.

short fic that stuck in my head when I was rereading the lovely Friends Across Borders Series by MueraRashaye. It seems like Kir needs a new fiber to make into a Sun-in-Glory knot-work. I mean Kir already made a "horse hair" one!
But he need some help as spinning is not something he ever learned to do.
luckily there is a daughter of a weaving family that has decide that she want to see if she can entice the firecat to give up some of their fur.note, there my be grammar error. Only went though the story a couple of times.

The lovely MueraRashaye, creator of Friends Across Borders, has given us a few tidbits about the Companion Aelius and his previous life/ lives. We know that he can somehow pressure Rolan; he and Kantor were/are friends; and in his Heraldic life, he was a mercenary.
MR and I have been discussing what Aelius' backstory might be like, and this is an idea I threw out in that discussion that turned out reasonably well IMO. I'm not hinting what he has on Rolan (and in any case, the details of it all are still being decided), but here's my take on how Aelius and Kantor started their friendship. There is ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE the eventual story will even vaguely resemble this when it finally gets written. But I hope you enjoy it anyway.Series
