    Summary

The biology of a Hobbit was a finely tuned instrument of comfort, designed by generations of peace and the steady rhythm of the Four Farthings. Among their many quirks, the leathered soles of their feet, the ability to move with supernatural silence, and the requirement of seven meals a day,was an instinct rarely seen by outsiders: the Nesting.

In the Shire, Nesting was a seasonal affair. When the first frost kissed the pumpkins in the fields, every Hobbit hole from Michel Delving to Buckland became a flurry of activity. Rugs were layered, wool was carded, and pillows were stacked until a Hobbit could dive into their bed and not be seen for three days.

But Nesting wasn't just for the cold. It was for the hurt. It was for the frightened.

Kili nodded vigorously. "Right. Uncle Bilbo says it ruins the bouquet. I’ll go find him after lunch."

Dis froze, her quill hovering over a ledger. "Uncle who?"
    ...

The Princess and the Lord of the Iron Hills formed an unlikely alliance. They spent the next forty-eight hours attempting to corner the mysterious Bilbo.

    (they don't)

    Bilbo’s Husband by

    Summary

Thorin loses his memories due to some accident or other.

He falls for the beautiful blond by his bedside at first sight but is promptly heartbroken to learn the hobbit (as he explains he is) is married! And to a dwarf no less! But surely no dwarf could be superior to their king, Thorin just needs to prove as much to Bilbo.

(Inspired by a fic I can’t find but absolutely love where Thorin tries to fight Bilbo’s husband without realising it’s himself)
