    “Maybe this is some elaborate joke on Ginny’s part to educate us on proper brotherly behaviour?” George mused, just as new words began to appear on the empty page. Well, that seemed a bit ambitious for a first-year…

    Harry Potter had a plan...it wasn't a very good plan, but at least it was simple.

    Step 1: Don't die from the insanely difficult ritual
    Step 2: Cause as much chaos to the timeline as possible before getting killed and/or arrested

    As it goes, it was really simple...until it became clear he wasn't traveling back in time alone. Now the whole plan has to change.

    Step 1: Don't die from the ritual
    Step 2: Kill off current Dark Lord
    Step 3: Establish following to become new Dark Lord
    Step 4: Overthrow Ministry
    Step 5: Cause as much chaos to the timeline as possible
    Step 6: Keep boyfriend alive and not mad at him

    It was a work in progress, but plans hadn't worked out well for Harry in the past regardless. Oh well, it's not like he could make things worse...

    A jet of yellow light barely missed Harry’s shoulder as he ducked, wand up but not firing. “Malfoy, stop! It’s not what you think—”

    But Malfoy wasn’t listening. He was unraveling. His chest still heaved, and his face was twisted in anguish and rage. He took aim again, and this time Harry heard the first syllable of the cruciatus curse slip through clenched teeth.

    “Cruc—”

    “LET’S JUST LEAVE!”

    The voice didn’t belong to Harry.
    It rang across the stone and echoed like a spell of its own, and for a second, everything froze.

    Malfoy’s hand wavered, while Harry turned sharply, stunned.

    Neville had stepped forward. His wand was still at his side, unused. His face was flushed, chest rising and falling, eyes wide and shining in the low light.

    “Let’s run away,” Neville said again, breathless and shaking. “Leave together. Just leave everything—Hogwarts, Dumbledore, V-Voldemort— all of it.”
