Summary
The fence is ten feet high and discharges electricity when someone tries to climb it. Bruce had warned him of that, when Jason had first arrived. To keep intruders out, he had explained and even then the words, polite as they were, had sounded like a lie. As if there was any thief stupid enough to try and rob Bruce fucking Wayne. As if the fence has any purpose besides keeping Jason inside.
_________________After living on the streets without walls to cage him in, Jason struggles with the concept of freedom behind the fences of Wayne Manor.

Summary
Jason Todd has always been good at handling emotions, especially when they involve Bruce.
So, when Bruce says something that should send Jason spiralling he definitely doesn't... Spiral that is (lies)
OR
Jason’s stomach plummeted, the question striking deeper than any fist or bullet ever had. His breath hitched, chest tightening, lungs aching for air that suddenly felt too thick to take in. The words felt like a trap--like a tripwire stretched taut between them, ready to snap the second he made a move. But Bruce didn’t press. He didn’t soften. He just *waited*, his silence a scalpel peeling Jason apart, layer by layer.
It was obvious Bruce hadn't meant it in the way Jason was hearing it. Jason knew personally how many times Bruce had used the same words during arguments with Dick but that didn't stop him from being any less caught off guard.

Summary
Somewhere in the garage, Jason squeaks to a stop again, but this time, there’s no shouted exclamations, and the footsteps don’t start again. Dick furrows his brow. It sounds like he stopped near the Japanese cars, and Dick can’t even remember what’s over there. He picks up his pace from where he had been meandering through the garage and beelines to where he thinks Jason is, the sudden silence unnerving him. God, what if something’s wrong, what if—
Jason is standing, arms frozen at his sides, breath shallow, jaw clenched tight, eyes the size of dinner plates. When Dick sees what he’s staring at, he can’t help the smirk. Jason turns his whole head to look at Dick and says, in a near whisper: “is that a Supra?”
“Yeah,” says Dick, “that’s the Supra.”
OR
Bruce requests that Dick try to bond with Jason before the adoption and leaves zero instructions on how to do that. Dick improvises.

Summary
“This one is a bit of an escape artist,” the shelter worker explains, “and he can be quite reactive. Are you sure you wouldn’t like to look at another? He may not be a good fit.”
Ugh, this again.
Jason curls up more tightly, wedging his nose beneath his tail so he can’t see whatever ‘adopters’ have come to peer piteously at him. He considers the logistics of making another escape attempt if the door is opened—until, that is, a boy’s voice abruptly arrests his attention.
“No,” Damian Wayne says, kneeling before Jason’s kennel. “I want this one.”
Jason encounters a villain who turns people into animals.
Damian, meanwhile, adopts a dog.

Summary
Jason knows he’s been standing at the edge. He knows he keeps looking down at the drop below, weighing what it would mean to just let go. He knows he’s been thinking of returning to the place he truly belongs.
