Mira lets the phone open to her chat with Zoey go limp by her side, staring into her... companion's eyes. The text buzzes in her hand, even as she continues to gawk at the woman across from her. The girl takes one headphone out of her ear, giving her a warm, almost pacifying smile as she asks with an even softer voice, "Hey, do you know where the computers are? I was told the public access ones in this library aren't 20 years old like the ones in the library across the city."

This was typically the part where Rumi would be expected to introduce herself, but she didn't seem to give a flying fuck about what was expected of her if the way she still just stared even as Celine cleared her throat pointedly said anything.

"Hey, we got you something from the store last night."
Rumi squinted between them and the bag. "Why."
"Because as much as you don't seem to like us, we like you just fine."

"Well, come on. Aren't you going to bite somebody with those big sharp teeth of yours?" Mira prompted again with a raised brow, shaking Zoey's arm slightly, as if genuinely trying to entice Rumi to take a bite.
Instead of taking the proffered bait, Rumi turned her head away with a strong air of ‘well now I don't want to.'
"Thought so." Mira drawled, unimpressed. "Now how about you let us help you inside?"

Rumi catches them kissing. It's late at night. Rumi couldn't sleep and got up to get water. They're still on the couch, turtle videos forgotten in the background. Zoey's hair is down and Mira's hand is twisted in it. Zoey's arm is wrapped around Mira's neck with her other hand on her chest. Their eyes are closed and along with the soft hum of the TV, Rumi can hear their breaths and their moans.Rumi gets water. They hear it run and watch Rumi from the couch. They're still in each other's arms, flushed and looking at Rumi in slight shock. Rumi says goodnight again.
Zoey says in disbelief, “Is that all you have to say?”
