“Fool, you think that the ultimate lifeform would live in some pathetic cave?”
“Actually, I’ve never really considered where you lived.” Sonic admitted, deciding to ignore the ultimate lifeform comment - he had to pick his battles right now, “But in my defense no one in the village really knows anything about you. You know, besides the fact that you go on murderous rampages.”
“I’ve never killed anyone… In your village.” Shadow defended, and Sonic felt sweat dripping down the back of his neck.Or, when one of Eggman's attacks actually succeeds in wounding Sonic, he and Shadow are forced to spend some time together. To both of their chagrin.

Summary
To fight for everyone's sake with light in his heart. This was the path Shadow chose to follow, but he is still haunted by Black Doom’s words of bringing only destruction. In an attempt to move on from his past, he agrees to accompany Sonic as they travel across the world, reminiscing about previous adventures and trying to deal with the loneliness both were subjected to.
